Watch Stranger Thing’s Hopper dance to Panic! At The Disco

Whoever runs the Twitter @Hopperdancingto is a clever little devil as they have edited the surly and protective Sheriff Hopper from the hit Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’, into a dancing clips with music that was never meant to accompany his dad-dancing-at-a-wedding moves. The results have been quite hilarious, and you can see more Hopper’s out-of-place hip swivels to jams from Sum 41, Good Charlotte, and  Smash Mouth.

So if you have already binged all of the recently released ‘Stranger Things’ Season 2

Woman Dresses Her Dog As A Mop, It’s The Best Pet Costume Ever

(from boredpanda.com)

If you’re tired of the same-old-same-old when it comes to canine Halloween costumes, get ready for something that just screams originality – and cuteness. The town of Covington, Kentucky recently held its annual Mainstrasse Paw-Rade, a big street party that lets dogs dress up and strut their stuff, and a Hungarian puli participant named Keki ended up stealing the show. Made Up Bean Meme Events That Look Fun

(from chicagoist.com)

If you live in Chicago and you’re on Facebook, you’ve seen it. Probably several times a day. By “it,” we mean the Bean meme phenomenon, which has spurred literally dozens of joke (we hope) “events” at Millennium Park’s public-art showpiece. Cornball, non-sequitur examples, like Have a tall boy with the bean at Coles and—perhaps the king of them all—Windex the Bean, have thousands of RSVPs and “interested” clicks. But given that Internet culture finds nothing so hilarious as committedly actualizing its most tossed-off throwaway gags, we wondered, could any of these happen? And if so, could any actually be worth visiting? As it happens, a few of them wouldn’t be such a bad way to kill a few minutes. Here are five highlights: (MORE HERE)

Add Googly Eyes to the Bean and only refer to it as Steve

Don’t need to rename it, and we wouldn’t want to leave the bespoke eyeballs on for eternity, but temporarily anthropomorphizing the big fella—and inverting that relentless tourist gaze!—seems like a good time, as long as we could guarantee no structural damage. One to keep in mind for the next installment of the Year of Public Art.

In 2012 Conan launched ridiculous objects over Chicago’s legendary State Street Bridge. One of those objects was a replica of The Bean. (WATCH BELOW)

WATCH: Travis Barker’s Spooky Drumming…Is Scary Good.

Travis Barker of Blink-182 must have really been feeling the Halloween spirit this year.  Check out this collaboration jam video with BYOS:

You most assuredly know one of those percussionists.  But let me introduce you Ralph Nader of BYOS.  His take on drums is definitely worth a moment of your ears.

It is hard to label what they do, but think of it as “drum line/MEETS/cover band/MEETS/street percussion.”

As an example of one of their many YouTube clips, here is BYOS taking on Marian Hill‘s “Down.”

Or this street jam of Steve Aoki‘s “Boneless.”

Since moving to Los Angeles, Nader seems to have connected with Barker.  This Halloween stunt wasn’t the first collaboration between the two.  And after discovering BYOS, I hope it isn’t their last.  — [eric]

Watch the ‘David S. Pumpkins Halloween Animated Special’ ANY QUESTIONS?

It was one of the most talked-about comedy sketches that ‘Saturday Night Live’ has produced in years and that’s on top of the much-covered spoofing of the 2016 Presidential Election season, David S. Pumpkins went viral last fall in a big way with a nonsensical premise and jokey scare finish. The sketch starring ‘Amercia’s Dad’ Tom Hanks was an instant hit, sending trios of friends to costume shops to figure out who would be the big or skinny skeleton buddy to the grinning man in the Pumpkin suit.
So the comedic brain trust at SNL got the gang back together to make Mr. S. Pumpkins into an animated character for a Halloween special that aired last night during an off-week for the variety show.  The original sketch writers/performers Streeter Siddel, Mikey Day, and Bobby Moynihan along with Hanks voice characters, plus the whole thing is narrated by a poetic Peter Dinklage of ;’Game of Thrones’ fame.
The odd premise of the sketch surprisingly works and walks a fine line between Adult Swim weirdness and family friendly cartoon specials of years gone by.

Watch John Cena cover the Pixies “Where is my mind?” (Yes, that John Cena!)

Yes, this is real.

To celebrate 900,000 subscribers on their Youtube channel, Niki and Brie the Bella Twins got Niki’s fiance and all around WWE superhero John Cean to do something we did not expect: perform a soft and intimate piano cover of the the Pixis alt-classic ‘Where is My Mind?’. Yes, the man is 16-time World Champion in the ring whose body-slammed giants and ran from explosions in action movies, and here is in a nice suit softly strumming the tune of possibly best song about introspecting one’s own emotions. You can’t see him in the ring, but you can see this a pretty cool video.

Here is the Pixies performing this wonderful song on tour in 2011. If you are not super familiar with this band but the song rings a bell, you may remember it from it being featured in the film ‘Fight Club’.

The most hilarious events happening at the Bean, according to Facebook

(from timeout.com)

You may have noticed something peculiar on Facebook this morning: There’s an increasing number of absurd events revolving around our city’s favorite reflective landmark, the Bean. We’re not sure what spurred the creation of these events (other than the fact that the Bean is a central meeting place that nearly everyone is aware of), but it’s quickly become a meme… and we’re enjoying it. Brand New say “we’re gonna be a band for about 14 more months”

(from brooklynvegan.com)

Last year, Brand New teased that they would break up in 2018, and on stage earlier this week, they added more fuel to that fire. AltPress points to a video where Jesse Lacey says, “We’re gonna be a band for about 14 more months so thank you so much for being here tonight” before playing “Same Logic/Teeth.” About 14 months from now would indeed be the tail-end of 2018. Stay tuned to see how this plays out. (On the bright side, does this mean an extensive 2018 tour?) (MORE HERE)

NEW MUSIC ALERT! Listen to new WEEZER album ‘Pacific Daydrem’ here

Just released this past Friday, here is the new very chill Weezer album called ‘Pacific Daydream’. We were just getting the last Weez album last year’s ‘White Album’ which also had similar California vibes with a persistent pursuit of positivist during trying times. Rivers Cuomo and company still deliver all the fun with a nod to the mutli-layered vocal harmonies of 60’s pop rock and their consistent love of making guitars really sing over monster hooks, particularly on the track ‘Mexican Fender’. If you enjoyed ‘White Album’ and the unrequited love anthems on their classic ‘Green’ and ‘Blue’ albums, this will be right up your emo alley. This album also sees the W boys giving it go on more keyboard driven tracks with grand results.

Listen to Rivers chat with Brian and Lou after playing in Tinley Park in the summer of 2016.

New Apple Store A Hazard To Birds, Rescue Group Says

(from cbschicago.com)

The new Apple Store on the river downtown has impressed Apple fans and most of the architecture critics, but not everybody is happy. (MORE HERE)

Now, there’s one more building presenting a hazard to the birds, according to Chicago Bird Collision Monitors.

“It is a new threat and a new hazard for the downtown area, in an area that already has many buildings with a lot of glass,” said Bird Collision Monitors director Annette Prince.

A place that can bring such joy to so many can also be the source of sad tragedy. I hope this isn’t the new circle of life for birds. I wish we could make them little glass detecting visors. Perhaps Sir Mitchell could be commissioned to create them IRL. Until then be safe out there birds!!
