Like Bill Murray before him, Jeff Goldblum is as much meme as he is man. So distinctive is his personality and cadence, the actorâs every word is met with rapture by his adoring fanbase, making him more suited than most to moonlight as a jazz musician, commandeer a food truck called Chef Goldblumâs Jazzy Snags, or give a 15-minute speech about his own career that somehow isnât insufferable. Spoiler alert: This story contains plot details from Season 2 of “Stranger Things”
The Upside Down isn’t the only thing that’s screwy in the second season of “Stranger Things.”
One episode of the hit Netflix drama’s new season depicts heroine Eleven running away to Chicago, where things get a little twisted.
Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, gets off her bus from small-town Indiana to find a hackneyed big city experience featuring unfriendly police, hurried businessmen and eventually slums where cold vagrants huddle around garbage fires.
For reference, here’s what Chicago’s skyline looked like in 1984:
“Happy Halloween everybody, I’m Dave Letterman Grohl”
“I’m Dave Grohl dressed as Dave Letterman sitting in for Jimmy Kimmel, it’s confusing, I get it, especially if you’re home watching right now stoned to the bone,” Dave started out last night which he followed with a huge announcement…

Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters hosted last nightâs episode of âJimmy Kimmel Live.â He stepped in for Kimmel, who is taking time off this week. Because it was Halloween, Grohl dressed up as David Letterman (with the full beard and everything). After a monologue and a segment about Halloween costumes, he was joined by Kristen Bell for a chat and performance of a Frozen/Metallica mash-up. Later, he chatted with Alice Cooper. Foo Fighters backed him up for a rendition of his song âBallad of Dwight Fry.â (The performance ended with a fake beheading.) Watch clips from the episode below. (MORE HERE)

The Wiener Circle tipped its hand on its marquee Friday that it would be bringing the “McDowell’s” costume from two years ago out of mothballs as it once again dresses up for Halloween, and the conversion was executed over the weekend in time for the Halloween Spooktacular on Clark Street Sunday afternoon.
The hot dog stand with a deserved reputation for playful orneriness at 2622 N. Clark St. followed the Cubs’ World Series run last year by turning into “Goatbusters,” a play on the movie “Ghostbusters” and the Cubs’ now-extinguished Billy Goat curse, complete with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. But some customers said they missed “McDowell’s,” the store’s costume from the previous year, in reference to the McDonald’s takeoff in the Eddie Murphy movie “Coming to America.”
Even our own Brian Phillips (Brian & Lou Brian) stopped by. See his Instagram post below

The students and staff at a secondary school in Cork, Ireland are convinced that a ghost walks amongst their hallowed halls, and now they have video evidence to prove it.
Here’s another angle

The conversation around horror movies this year has been dominated by two words: Get Out. Jordan Peeleâs boundary-breaking thriller has deservedly become the reflexive response to the question, âSeen any good horror movies lately?â But while Peeleâs directorial debut has been generating early Oscar buzz, a lot of other great horror movies have hit theaters so far this year. Young actresses like Anya Taylor-Joy, Sennia Nanua, and Garance Marillier have impressed in showcase roles, while occult stories like A Dark Song and The Blackcoatâs Daughter have moved past the well-worn exorcism narrative in favor of more distinct takes on satanic horror. And there have also been some very good bad guys! Here then, are the best horror films of the year so far that arenât Get Out. (But thereâs also Get Out.) (MORE HERE)
Weezer fresh off releasing their new chill vibes album ‘Pacific Daydream’ on Friday, performed last night on the ‘Late Show’ with Stephen Colbert. This new album has such a soulful relaxed vibe, and this live version of ‘Happy Hour’ really cements that here. Also check out Rivers Cuomo rocking the cardigan like he did in ‘Blue Album’ era music videos, that’s a sweater I do not want to destroy while holding a thread as he walks away.
Listen to new Weezer album ‘PACIFIC DAYDREAM’ in it’s entirety here.
Weezer played the NIGHTS WE STOLE CHRISTMAS last year, the festive fun continues this year at the Aragon!

Aracde Fire are performing in the round on their current arena tour which brought them to the United Center last night. This situation can create some production challenges. so how do you get the band on stage while generating hype? Well why not make the stage into a pro wrestling/boxing ring and have the band walk out like they are going into a big title fight!
It’s funny to hear to all the fictional awards mentioned during their introduction like their Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award.
The stage/ring is a really striking and engaging idea for a live show. I’d love to get that ring for a pic!
Here are some other social media highlights from last night’s AF show. Check out the 101WKQX Instagram to see what we were up to last night with the Struts at our sold-out Halloween Bash.Â

Who knew the “T” and “A” in CTA really stands for T & A?!  City Hall wants to make bus riding âsexyâ to reverse âerodingâ ridership tied to ride-hailing. I mean, nothing gets me all hot and ready to ride the bus like the usual stink of urine and stale Cheetos… but maybe they could start by hosing the buses down? Or telling them they are beautiful and look great in those tires? GTFO
The things nightmares are made of :X

What would make bus riding more sexy to you?  Maybe a rush-hour cta pole-dance competition? Tweet me.
