We May Have a New Joker

Warner Bros. is busy putting together a Joker origin movie, but Jared Letto won’t be donning the green hair and silver grill this time. Which is good, since he’s got the new Thirty Seconds to Mars album and tour to worry about.

That said, Todd Phillips (Old School, The Hangover series, War Dogs) who is co-writing the script says this will not interfere with Letto’s role as the Joker we saw in “Suicide Squad.” Which adds to the theories that they could be doing a Tim Drake or Jason Todd thing with his story line.

The latest news to come out of the new Joker project is WB/DC found their guy. Word is they really want Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime in the origin story. It’s also being reported that he’s down to accept the role.

The new back story will supposedly have a gritty, 80’s setting. While this could be a good way for DC to try and help their struggeling movie universe, it is going to be had to beat the way Heath Ledger owned the role.

Elon Musk put his car in outer space, yeah it’s awesome

If you can put your own car in outer space with a dummy astronaut, you have done something special. Tech wizard Eilon Musk’s SpaceX successfully launched the Falcon Heavy, the largest rocket to blast off from Earth since NASA’s Saturn 5 which sent the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. This ‘Starman’ dummmy cruising in an open top Tesla Roadster is now making his way to Mars attached to a larger rocket that detaches during the flight.

Video: Man gets junk stuck in public transit turnstile

Warning this is HARD to watch, and does NOT feature any graphic nudity but it’s not easy to hear this man screams as a team of police and transit officials work to get his junk removed from a turnstile in London’s Underground system. The story has been viral today in the UK, and  Metro had an on-point lead-off line saying the following:

Sometimes in life you have days where everything goes perfectly and you end up feeling like a superhero. Then there are the times when you try to hurdle the gates in the London Underground and get your genitals stuck in the barriers.

Yeah, this was one of those days. It does make you think of all the bad behavior on the CTA which I am pretty sure we have all witnessed once or twice. The man was removed safely but appeared to be in a tremendous amount of pain, on top of the huge amount of regret he has for trying that in the first place.

David Bowie’s music is being sent to Mars by SpaceX

Ground Control to Major Tom….

Today with much news coverage, New tech titan Eilon Musk’s SpaceX launched the Falcon Heavy, the largest rocket from Earth since NASA’s Saturn 5 which brought man to the Moon. This massive scientific marvel will bring the rocket with a view-able distance of Mars and from there it will launch a smaller rocket vehicle which will have a Tesla Roadster attached which will be playing rock ‘n roll spaceman David Bowie’s epic “Space Oddity”. Yes, a song about a astronaut whose aware he’s going to lost in space forever is going to be played in a car that will be lost in space forever. Above you can watch a CGI mock up for the planned Falcon Heavy journey to the tune of Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars’.

Musk just continues to be the real world’s version of Tony Stark from Marvel. When will he reveal he’s Iron Man?!
