Hands down, this was the best of the three stand alone Thor movies. The crazy money it pulled in can tell you that. But, this movie was also the funniest offering from Marvel yet. It seems like they started to add in more humor with “Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 1” and realized it works. Jeff Goldblum as the “Grandmaster” was one of the best parts. Here are some of his deleted scenes.

Yes, we’re all adults here. And sure, it seems silly to want a toy, and yet…
Hasbro just announced the “Star Wars Ultimate Co-pilot Chewie,” a plush toy that responds to human touch and snores when it’s rocked to sleep. It doesn’t come out until fall (just in time for the holidays, naturally), so you have plenty of time to start saving up for the $129.99 expense.
Check out Mashable’s test run of the Chewie prototype:
If you were hoping that My Chemical romance would be reuniting for the final Wrapped Tour, sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s not happening. The lineup for the final run planed for Warped Tour is coming next month, but the Tweet they fired out was pretty clear.
let’s just set the record straight – we are not reuniting @MCRofficial

The dark sci-fi Netflix series ‘Black Mirror’ brought our fears of current online dating into a whole new scary light recently with an episode entitled ‘Hang the DJ’ in which character’s relationship length is determined by a computer program and it causes all type of deep emotional distress as you could expect. Well that program ‘Coach’ has now been unleashed on the real world?! Yes just in times of Valentine’s Day is this new program where your partner and yourself can click your info in and find out if this computer really wants you to make it. Click here to see how the Coach thinks you will be with your significant other.
I legit got scared just looking at the site. Now, it’s just a website that generates what might be considered arbitrary numbers to represent the length of your love together but it’s still depressing to even think about. While at the same time, your deeply intrigued right?
Here’s the trailer for that very sad but beautiful episode of Black Mirror with a fitting soundtrack from the Smiths.

A fire broke out on Portugal. The Man‘s tour bus during their stop in Iowa yesterday. Thankfully, no one was hurt and they even got the show. Iowa City FD had it under control pretty quickly.
FYI, this shouldn’t affect their sold out show at the Aragon this Friday at all.
Our crews were able to knock the fire down quickly. https://t.co/ogEdtXZLL2

Pretty impressive lineup of Brandi Carlile, Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Chad Smith, and Will Ferrell covering Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus” at “One Classy Night” in Seattle on Monday. They were raising money for Cancer for College. Plus, further proof the Chad Smith and Will Ferrell are two different people.

It’s an annual tradition at Pornhub, one they say results in a massive spike in users. Traffic firmed up by 308% last year, and they’re expecting an even bigger splash this year.

It does’n seem like February weather is sending you chasing after your neighborhood ice cream truck, and then this happened. The Smashing Pumpkins are gearing up for their big return with Billy Corgan being rejoined by original members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin, with an ominous countdown clicking down to the 15th. Today in Los Angeles and New York, as well here in Chicago, fans have able to seek out a specially designed ice cream truck they can draw on and engage in an interactive contest. The winner get exclusive prizes and more.
The ice cream truck is symbolically connected with the band after playing a role in their classic ‘Today’ video.
The SP ice cream truck hit the streets of Wicker Park near Violet Hour. Our own Indie-Pendenat Dance Party DJ’s and former Kill Hannah bassist Greg Corner found the SP truck and shared some social media love for it on Facebook.
This is all going on while there is a bit of drama between the Pumpkins and former bassist D’Arcy Wretzky , read that story here.

Jack Battle is a musical mad scientists for sure, especially this week after he created a Frankensteing like creation in the Firby Organ on his Youtube, Look Mum No Computer. Battle spent years crafting, soldering, and tweaking over these demented scary toys to make this organ that combines all of their weird wales, Beelzebub beeps, and hellscape sounds for this video. No matter what you think of it, the video has quickly gone viral with the #17 spot on Youtube’s trending clips list.
Battle has an impressive YT with several videos where he through his cockney accent, hacks up old tech to make mutant delights like when he turns this old bike into a power point for a synthesizer. Yes, the bike powers the beats!
I tried to get into the Olympics last night, I really did.
Curling didn’t do it for me. And I was even less excited about team figure skating. The problem, as I’ve come to realize, is that the Olympics are robot-free. Someone, somewhere realized this and created the Ski Robot Challenge. Eight robotics teams from universities, institutes and a private company gathered today at a ski resort about an hour away from Pyeongchang to compete for 10K.
Cold, sub-zero wind chills may sideline Olympic competitions, but not robot skiing contests. Watch for yourself:
Netflix has a very funny Valentines planned for you. The streaming service will release the first of two news stand up specials from comedy icon Chris Rock. The news was confirmed today that the new special titled ‘Tamborine’ would be debut tomorrow, so tonight at 12am if you’re going to be up that late. The special was filmed at Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City and was directed by comedian Bo Burnham. The special was a part of Rock’s first full fledged tour in many years, and it will be his first special since 2008’s ‘Kill the Messenger ‘. Rock played 4 shows at the Chicago Theater in September 2017.
Rock signed with Netflix a reported $40 million dollar deal for two specials. There is not set timetable for the second special’s release.
In case you haven’t been paying attention to the back and forth between the reunited members of the Smashing Pumpkins and bassist D’arcy Wretzky it hasn’t been pretty. Now, on the latest installment of “As the Pumpkin Turns” the band is addressing why she has not been a part of the reunited Pumpkins project. According to Billy, Jimmy and James it was not for lack of trying. In fact, they put it back on D’arcy in this statement.
“In reuniting The Smashing Pumpkins, the band’s dedication remains to its fans and its music. To that, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and William Corgan haven’t played a show with D’arcy Wretzky for over 18 years. But it’s not for a lack of trying. For despite reports, Ms. Wretzky has repeatedly been invited out to play with the group, participate in demo sessions, or at the very least, meet face-to-face, and in each and every instance she always deferred. We wish her all the best, and look forward to reconnecting with you all very soon.”
If you have time and want to go further down the rabbit hole, ou can find a pretty good recap of all that’s been said at NME.
Remember the simpler times when everyone was just floating on clouds and playing music?
The band has been teasing something. They have a countdown clock running on SmashingPumpkins.com. Whether it’s a tour, a new album, or something else is still a guess. This did show up on Twitter, though.

It’s Paczki Day also know as Fat Tuesday. Which is totally fitting since most of us are going to fill up on these amazing Polish pastries today. Trust no one that tells you they only had one.

Check out Eat The Burbs for spots outside of the city.
And in case you want to find a gym, for tomorrow of course. Gyms.
Some of us may have in our teen years labored over clogged skin with the disgust but sometimes oddly satisfying practice of pimple popping, but now you can relive that with the Pop It Pal. It a very real toy made out of life-like silicone with ‘pores’ that that you pop out the ‘pus’. Yep it’s gross, but people are watching those pimple pop videos in big numbers and no matter how gross this looks, it also looks like fun. You get it online here.
Gross toys are not something news. Remember ‘Creepy Crawlers’ or those freakish ‘Garbage Pale Kids‘ cards?
