McDonald’s is bringing back Szechuan Sauce today and we have “Rick and Morty” to thank…again. The sauce originally cam out in the 90’s as part of the promotion for the Disney movie “Mulan.” McDonald’s eventually discontinued the sauce, but it found new life after it was featured on R&M. Fans pretty much drove McDonald’s crazy until the did a limited release of the sauce last fall. By limited I mean like 8 packets at select stores. People waited in line for hours to get their hands on the sauce and were not happy when they couldn’t get it. In same cases it led to riots breaking out. Yes. All over a dipping sauce no one cared about since 1998. Well, today McD’s is trying to make it all good. This time around all locations should have it. They reported shipped 20 million packets of the sauce. Still, if you’re trying to get your hands on some you might not want to wait. Who knows how long it will last.

Kevin Smith was forced to cancel a show in California last night after suffering a ‘massive heart attack’ following his first show of the night. The good news is it sounds like he’s going to be okay.
After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! pic.twitter.com/M5gSnW9E5h

He followed that up with this post on his Facebook Page…
“I was trying to do a killer standup special this evening but I might’ve gone too far. After the first show, I felt kinda nauseous. I threw up a little but it didn’t seem to help. Then I started sweating buckets and my chest felt heavy. Turns out I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life at the#glendale hospital told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (also known as “the Widow-Maker” because when it goes, you’re a goner). If I hadn’t canceled the second show to go to the hospital, the Doc said I would’ve died tonight. For now, I’m still above ground! But this is what I learned about myself during this crisis: death was always the thing I was most terrified of in life. When the time came, I never imagined I’d ever be able to die with dignity – I assumed I’d die screaming, like my Dad (who lost his life to a massive heart attack). But even as they cut into my groin to slip a stent into the lethal Widow-Maker, I was filled with a sense of calm. I’ve had a great life: loved by parents who raised me to become the individual I am. I’ve had a weird, wonderful career in all sorts of media, amazing friends, the best wife in the world and an incredible daughter who made me a Dad. But as I stared into the infinite, I realized I was relatively content. Yes, I’d miss life as it moved on without me – and I was bummed we weren’t gonna get to make#jayandsilentbobreboot before I shuffled loose the mortal coil. But generally speaking, I was okay with the end, if this was gonna be it. I’ve gotten to do so many cool things and I’ve had so many adventures – how could I be shitty about finally paying the tab. But the good folks at the Glendale hospital had other plans and the expertise to mend me. Total strangers saved my life tonight (as well as my friends @jordanmonsanto & @iamemilydawn, who called the ambulance). This is all a part of my mythology now and I’m sure I’ll be facing some lifestyle changes (maybe it’s time to go Vegan). But the point of this post is to tell you that I faced my greatest fear tonight… and it wasn’t as bad as I’ve always imagined it’d be. I don’t want my life to end but if it ends, I can’t complain. It was such a gift.#KevinSmith“
Smith (aka “Silent Bob”) was behind cult hits like “Clerks,” “Mall Rats,” “Chasing Amy” and more. Here’s a quick recovery.
Early Saturday morning, a guy got popped for DUI…..while riding a horse along a Los Angeles freeway. He probably should have just hoofed it home, instead. — [eric]

I have to imagine that as tattoos have become more a part of regular life, inked parents will eventually have to cross this bridge.
TMZ caught up with Travis Barker this week — and asked about when it was cool for his son to get tattoos. Well, he started getting ink at the age of 15, so I would think a totally relevant question between father and his kid. The Blink-182 drummer revealed his 14 year old son is already asking about facial tattoos…and shared the advice he gave his offspring:
As a tattooed parent, how would you handle it? How HAVE you handled it, might be the more appropriate question…? — [eric]

The feel good vibes continue in anticipation of their 30th anniversary tour as the Smashing Pumpkins continued to stir the pot of fan excitement this week. Billy Corgan posted online a list of potential songs from the band’s classic era that could make up the set list for the long-anticipated tour reunion between himself, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin. Jeff Schroder who has played with Corgan as a member of the Pumpkins over the past few years will be in the fold as well. The tour will feature SP focusing on the albums Gish to Adore.
It’s intriguing to see Corgan teasing some choice cover songs from David Bowie, Led Zepplin, and Joy Division.
You may have read about the drama with original bassist D’Arcy Wretzky but let’s get past that and focus on what grand songs we might hear on August 13th when they return to the United Center.
MUSE continue to the be kings of doing cool and exciting things at their live shows. Whether it’s wild showmanship with giant LED screens, flying drones, or over-the-top costumes, they deliver something special and unique in all of their acclaimed live shows around the world. Today in Paris, the UK giants took it a step further giving their faithful fans control over their show with a ‘By Request’ format, letting live viewers on Facebook and ticket holders at La Cigale to vote for tracks from the band’s massive catalog. This does drive die-hards to get behind some deep cuts that Matt Belamy and company have not played in many years including ‘Citizen Erased’ and ‘Fury’.

Robert Delong is back with us with this self-deprecating track that features the always engaging K.Flay that describes the dark side of life with an obvious color ‘Blue’. The one man band Delong wowed us in the past at PIQNIQ, and in our old Lounge ‘Studio 7’ and this new song is another reminder to not to sleep on him.
It’s a stomp and clap soulful fighting anthem from the most stunning voice in alternative, Bishop Briggs. If you love hearing her hit ‘Dream’ on 101WKQX, then you will love this new song ‘WHITE FLAG’ that was just posted this week. If you are having tough time, this might be that pump-you-up track to get you back in a better place.
Check our LOUNGE session with her from a few months back.

Jared Leto keeps busy! A new Thirty Seconds to Mars album/tour is on the way and a show about to hit Netflix. Here’s the first look at Jared in ‘The Outsider.’ Netflix describes this as an American soldier imprisoned in postwar Japan enters the dark world of the yakuza, adopting their way of life in repayment for his freedom. This hit’s Netflix on March, 9th.
The runaway success of “Black Panther” has had unexpected side effects north of Chicago. The titular Panther hails from Wakanda, a fictional nation in Africa with technological advancements far beyond our imagination. It’s also home to the Marvel Comics substance known as vibranium, a rare metal of extraterrestrial origin.
The problem with Wakanda is it sounds just like Wauconda, the Lake County town in between McHenry and Mundelein. Variety reports the village has been getting calls and emails inspired by “Black Panther: Requests for vibranium. Loud proclamations of “Wakanda (er, Wauconda) forever!” You get the idea.
Here’s hoping we learn that one of the characters in the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” is from the fictional town of Karpantersville or Lgonequinn.
