Couldn’t let this one slip through the cracks.
Last week, a video surfaced of my new favorite person in the world: Stevie. She thought she found herself in a pretty unique situation…in an empty “L” car on the CTA. A private ride on public transportation, if you will.
She celebrated by belting out an improvised song. Not just for herself, as it turned out:
Please enjoy this fantastic video of my friend Stevie. It’s one of my favorite things ever pic.twitter.com/gTDaioUtOR

Thanks to the Chicago Tribune, we know that Stevie….is local improv actress Stevie Shale. Turns out she was playing around with Facebook Live more than a year ago — and it took until last weekend for a friend to share that gem of a video with us. As of the posting of this article, it had hit 3.5 million views.
If you were hoping for a repeat performance, don’t get your hopes up. Turns out she’s commuting by car nowadays. Oh, Stevie… — [eric]

Hold on to your green beeds, dye greed beer, green hats, and your green tuxedo t-shirt! It’s a grand mashup of Twenty One Pilot’s ‘Lane Boy’ and Panic! At The Disco’s ‘Death Of A Bachelor’ from Youtube channel pseudosalient. It really makes you focus on the bass line. Ok, shake your butts and don’t drink n drive.
Thanks to AltPress for turning us onto this!
SATANIC PANIC! It was a craze in 80’s and 90’s that legitimately played into numerous crime stories throughout the United States, with outside parties saying that suspects involved were in league with dark occult forces which drove them to commit the crimes they were accused of. This is on display in several documentaries from the period including the must-see HBO series ‘Paradise Lost’. Now some of this may be laughable in retrospect while others take this SATAN business very seriously, but it’s something media outlets certainly jumped on and the stories grew taller than reality in most cases.
AV Club’s Katie Rife reported this week on the planned series that Hulu is developing that will use the entire true crime issue as an inspiration for a scripted drama.
Called Demons, the series will be an anthology focused around two characters: A manipulative psychiatrist named Bennett Lewis and his wife/star patient Marilyn Jones, who will become involved in a different Satanic Panic case each season; as THR puts it, “each season of Demons would explore a twisted crime affected by the couple’s dark exploration into the fragile nature of memory and guilt.” The series is inspired by the obsession with uncovering repressed memories that preoccupied psychologists of the period, some of whom used hypnosis and other heavy-handed methods of suggestion to lead patients to “remember” acts of sexual abuse by nonexistent Satanic cabals.
The cries of ‘SATANIC PANIC’ even somehow where laid upon the fantasy role playing game ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ during the whole issue. New York Times covered this with the disappearance of a college student.
The best ‘devil’ in alternative will always be Dave Grohl in a ‘rock-off’ against Tenascios D in ‘Tribute’.
Run the Jewels brought the thunder when they played the Nights We Stole Christmas with 101WKQX at the Aragon in December, from there we truly understood their awesomeness knows no bounds. This became even more evident when the rap duo’s introspective track ‘Oh Mama’ gets combined in this fresh animated adventure from another popular duo, Rick and Morty.
RTJ will play the Adult Swim Festival in LA in October, so this tie-in makes sense, but this song vibes so well with Rick and Morty blasting out space bugs and running away with the loot.
Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo has to be one of the most prolific musicians in alternative music right now. The Weez put out a new album ‘Pacific Daydream’ last fall and have another one on the way already, plus he’s been busy doing a solo acoustic shows where he’s nailing covers of REM, Smashing Pumpkins, and Oasis. If that’s not enough, he’s also working on fresh tunes with up and coming bands like AJR. You may have heard Cuomo’s featured part on their track ‘Sober Up’ on 101WKQX. OK, can he slow down now? Nope, RIVERS IS STILL GOING!
Yesterday, the horned-rim glasses master of emotions delivered a solo track called ‘Medicine for Melancoly’. The song is another surprise from Cuomo as most in the Weezerverse were just waiting patiently for the May 25th release of ‘the Black Album’.
Nine Inch Nails will deliver a new EP in a few months according to Trent Reznor who revealed the scoop while promoting the band’s European tour this summer. This EP will close out a trilogy that started in December 2016 with Not the Actual Events and continued in July 2017 with Add Violence.
“We started out with a rigid concept, having not written them all. As we finished Add Violence we found ourselves… it felt too predictable. It felt like we were forcing things. Musically and storytelling-wise. The reason this has been delayed is because it took us a while for—what has become the third EP—to reveal itself to us.” said Reznor in the interview with Beats 1.
NME reports NIN will deliver the yet-to-be-titled EP before the end of June.

Uber just released its 2018 “Lost & Found Index,” “a snapshot of (their) riders’ most commonly lost and most surprising forgotten items.” The list is spectacular, including a red cape, divorce papers and a pool cue. Check it out:

Amy Shark did a great version of “Adore” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon:
Of course, we’re partial to her Lounge performance of “Adore”:
Okay, fans/followers of the 1975 and CHVRCHES, try to maintain reasonable body function with this news: CHVRCHES has covered “Somebody Else.” The choice cover was done in a recent Live Lounge session with the BBC. The full video of the performance isn’t up, but a short clip on Twitter has already been retweeted over 800 times today. When the full performance surfaces, we’ll update this article.

THE CONJURING IS A SCARY MOVIE!
According to horror movie blog Bloody Disgusting, these are the 10 movies were “turned off by large numbers of viewers after at least 70% of the runtime had passed, which they say indicates more than mere disinterest.” The list is based on data from Netflix. This list is a part of the fall out of ‘Veronica’, a Spainish language horror film on Netflix which is based on true events and has generated real hard scares in viewers.
Youtube listing channel Looper has put their own list of horror flicks that are too scary.
Imagine Dragons have a made a short film with their new single ‘Next To Me’.
