101WKQX’S “311 and The Offspring Ticket Blitz” Contest
Official Rules
A complete copy of these rules can be obtained at the offices of radio station WKQX-FM (“Station”), owned and operated by Cumulus Media Holdings Inc. or one of its subsidiary companies, 455 N. Cityfront Plaza Drive, Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60611, during normal business hours Monday through Friday or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the above address.
The Station will conduct the 101WKQX “311 and The Offspring Ticket Blitz” Contest (the “Contest”) substantially as described in these rules, and by participating, each participant agrees as follows:
Eligibility. This Contest is open only to legal U.S. residents, excluding Florida and New York residents, age eighteen (18) years or older at the time of entry with a valid Social Security number and who reside in the Station’s Designated Market Area (“DMA”) as defined by Nielsen Audio, who have not won a prize from the Station in the last ninety (90) days or a prize valued at $500 or more in the last one hundred eighty (180) days, and whose immediate family members or household members have not won a prize from the Station in the last ninety (90) days or a prize valued at $500 or more in the last one hundred eighty (180) days. Void where prohibited by law. Employees of Cumulus Media Holdings Inc., its parent company, affiliates, related entities and subsidiaries, promotional sponsors, prize providers, advertising agencies, other radio stations serving the Station’s DMA, and the immediate family members and household members of all such employees are not eligible to participate. The term “immediate family members” includes spouses, parents and step-parents, siblings and step-siblings, and children and stepchildren. The term “household members” refers to people who share the same residence at least three (3) months out of the year. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Station’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
(i) Text: Listen to the Station Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 9:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, and 6:00pm during the Contest Period. When the Station announces the keyword and plays the “cue-to-text” sounder, TEXT the keyword to the Station at 312-101. Valid text entries received during the 30 minute period after each cue-to-text sounder (as determined by the Station in its sole discretion) will be entered into the Grand Prize drawing. Time Delay Between Over-the-Air Analog Signal and Internet Broadcast: Due to the time delay that exists between the Station’s analog over-the-air signal and the Station’s online webcast, listeners who listen to the Station online may hear the cue to text later than listeners listening to the Station’s analog over-the-air signal. As a result, the odds of an online listener entering this Contest on-air may be diminished. Standard text messaging rates, as established by an individual’s wireless carrier, may apply, and Station assumes no responsibility for any fees or charges incurred for and associated with any text message sent to or from Station. By entering the Contest using this method, you consent to receive a bounce back confirmation text. Any and all fees arising out of the transmission of a text message shall be the sole responsibility of the entrant. Limit one (1) entry per person per phone number. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same telephone number. Any attempt by any participant to submit more than one (1) entry by using multiple/different telephone phone numbers, identities, or any other methods will void that participant from further participation in the Contest. By submission of a text message entry in this Contest, entrants hereby expressly consent to the receipt of a confirmatory bounce-back message related to this Contest.
(ii) ) E-Mail: During the contest period, send an e-mail to Cumulus Chicago to the e-mail address [email protected] (promo at one zero one dot w k q x dot com). Include in the e-mail the keyword BLITZ along with first name, last name, home address, e-mail address and phone number. All entries must be received by 6:30pm CT on Thursday, April 19, 2018 to be eligible for the Grand Prize drawing. Limit one (1) entry per person per day per email address. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any participant to submit more than one (1) entry per day by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that entry and the participant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Station is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, inappropriate or misdirected registrations, all of which will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the email address used to register will be deemed to be the participant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned the telephone number by the wireless carrier or an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. All entries become the sole and exclusive property of Station and will not be returned. Station reserves the right to contact entrants and all other individuals whose email address is submitted as part of this promotion. No mail-in entries will be accepted.
Winner Selection. On Thursday, April 19, 2018, Station will randomly select seven (7) entries for a Grand Prize in a random drawing from among all call-in and online valid entries received by Station during the Contest Period. Winning entrants will be contacted using the email address and/or telephone number provided with the entry and may be awarded the prize (subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these rules). Station’s decisions as to the administration and operation of the Contest and the selection of the potential winner are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Failure to respond to the initial verification contact within three (3) days of notification will result in disqualification.
There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that the Station may, at its sole discretion and to the extent permitted by law, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Any tickets and/or gift certificates/cards awarded as part of a prize will be subject to the terms and conditions set forth by the issuer and are valid only on the date(s) printed on the tickets or gift certificates/cards. Other restrictions may apply.
CONTEST SPONSOR: Cumulus Media Holdings Inc., WKQX-FM, 455 N. Cityfront Plaza Drive, Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60611; Live Nation, 111 E. Wacker Drive, Suite 1400, Chicago, IL 60601
Florence Welch joined Arcade Fire on stage in London this weekend for a version of “Dog Days are Over!” Check it out:
This year Tax Day falls on Tuesday, April 17. Because the typical tax deadline (April 15) fell on a Sunday, it would have normally been moved to Monday, April 16. But…
This year, April 16 is Emancipation Day, a holiday set aside to commemorate the 1862 signing of the Emancipation Act by President Abraham Lincoln. Emancipation Day is a legal holiday in D.C. with city workers off the job.
This means Tax Day is being pushed ahead one more day to Tuesday, April 17.
Still need to file an extension like I just did? Here’s what the IRS says:
“April 17 is the deadline for most taxpayers to file an extension and to pay taxes owed to avoid penalty and interest charges. If you file for an extension, your return is due Oct. 15. Special rules may apply if you’re in the military or live outside the U.S.”
You can file your extension HERE. And find out the status of your refund HERE, then use all that dough to snag your PIQNIQ tickets HERE!

Taking Back Sunday announced the departure of founding member/guitarist Eddie Reyes on their Facebook page Friday night.
In case you complained about snow on your car this morning, how about this?
A woman in Queensland, Australia “was driving and I saw the snake climbing over the bonnet of my car and heading straight for my face level at the windscreen. It was spitting with rain, but I don’t like to hurt animals, even snakes.”

Jack White really stretched himself for this un-aired Saturday Night Live sketch from last night: he played himself, in the middle of an awkward wedding night love triangle.
Jack also performed two songs from Boarding House Reach. Check em out in case your DVR didn’t. — [eric]
Thank you for your warm welcome at our inaugural #Coachella performance. pic.twitter.com/i9TCrEnSoy

Greta Van Fleet absolutely crushed it this weekend at Coachella, playing through technical issues with their hip-shaking fist-pumpking rocking soulfulness to an impressive roar from the California crowd. That same unfiltered power will be present when they take the stage at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park,IL for PIQNIQ on June 30th. Get your tickets for as low as $20 here.
The lead singer of @GretaVanFleet is serving some Little Hiawatha realness at #Coachella18. Hell, the whole band looks like they're members of the Lost Boys from 70's Neverland. I love it. pic.twitter.com/kE8zcJ8h8X

Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day released the debut EP from his new punk side band, the Longshot. The EP features the tracks featuring three songs, “Taxi Driver,” “Love Is for Losers” and “Chasing a Ghost.”

Acid For the Children will arrive September 25.
Herre is a description of the book according to Pitchfork:
“Iconic bassist and co-founder of the immortal Red Hot Chili Peppers finally tells his fascinating life story, complete with all the dizzying highs and the gutter lows you’d expect from an LA street rat turned world-famous rock star,”
Flea is not the only Pepper to pen a book. RHCP’s singer Anthony Kiedis released the best-selling biography ‘Scar Tissue’ which detailed the band’s rise from the underground while Kiedis battled drug addiction in 2004.
Here is an interview Kiedis did to promote the book’s release
On April 1st, a video went viral of Mason Ramsey yodeling a rendition of a Hank Williams song ‘Lovesick Blues’ in an aisle in a Walmart in Harrisburg,IL. Millions viewed in admiration of the country crooning kid dressed in his finery, then the memes came ‘a rolling in. He became more than just a boy, he became ‘Yodel Boy’.
Here is the original video that got it all going for Mason.
Then came the remixes with background music that is very far from the rhinestone cowboy that Ramsey is portraying.
And then the cover versions….
The overnight sensation went from a blue tag special song to a charming nationally televised chat with Ellen DeGeneres.
Then Mason took the stage in a surprise cameo with Post Malone at Coachella yesterday. Yep, you start at Walmart and end up on stage in front of thousands at the biggest music festivals in the world.
Ramsey was a legit up and comer in country music opening for big names in the genre before all this occurred, but you got to admire this young lil’ throwback performing an emo country sad song to swoon a nation.
I had a super fun time producing this video. I had a chat with the writer about the video and how she came up with the idea.
Mishell Livio: I met you in October of 2017 when you auditioned to be a part of the Generation LatinX (GLx) ensemble. Outside of performing, what do you do?
Emilie Sepúlveda: As a dog behavior specialist, walker, and runner, I spend all day talking with animals, and am always excited for any opportunity to have a captive human audience.
ML: Where did the inspiration for the sketch “Chola Wisdom” come from?
ES: Since I was nine, I’ve been a 5’9, blonde, fair-skinned Latina. Fitting in took effort…and I’m still trying to figure it out. In middle school, I came to the brilliant conclusion that joining a gang would be a sure fire way to, not only fit in, but have guaranteed friends.
The sound and overall image of the character came from my childhood alter ego: “Osa Avondale.” I created her to inspire my “get hard” persona that I had fully intended to take me far in life. I imagined her kicking asses, but I also knew she’d be intensely connected to world issues because being an educated, well-rounded Chola was key.
All I had to do was commit a crime or two… Luckily, I was never taken seriously, so I didn’t need to be “knifed in” or “knifed out.”
Coachella is happening over the next couple of weekends, but if you want to enjoy the performances from the comfort of your own home…this is the ONLY weekend you can do that. And here’s how:
YouTube is providing live streaming from select performances — including some in VR for that life-like appearance — and you can not only see the schedule, but customize the lineup for YOUR tastes….right here.
To me, the second best thing to being there. However, Coachella bands Greta Van Fleet and The Neighbourhood are going to be on the PIQNIQ 2018 lineup. See them up close and personal! Taste their sweat…..if you….want. (Gross). Lineup, tickets and info can be found here. — [eric]
Google’s been working on big overhauls to Gmail, including emails that can expire after they’re sent. Essentially, after a user-chosen amount of time that could be one week to multiple years in the future, an email can be rendered unreadable. According to Techcrunch, emails will also be configurable to prevent forwards, copy-and-paste, downloads and printability.
It’s not ready for public use yet… and it’s not yet clear if these features will only exist on Gmail platforms.
Will Ferrell was in a 2-car accident last night in Orange County, California. According to TMZ, he was in a chauffeur-driven SUV that was sideswiped, resulting in the SUV flipping.
Ferrell is said to have been released from the hospital and did not suffer any injury.
