Swedish-born producer and DJ Avicii, born Tim Bergling, has died. He was only 28 years old.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” his publicist Diana Baron said in a statement. “He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
Avicii was a pioneer of the contemporary Electronic Dance Movement and a rare DJ capable of worldwide arena tour. He won two MTV Music Awards, one Billboard Music Award and earned two Grammy nominations.
His death comes just days after he was nominated for a Billboard Music Award for top dance/electronic album for his EP “Avicii (01).”

Here we go again… another study to launch another round of intense pizza debate. Online food delivery service Caviar’s released a list of its most popular pizza toppings, looking at data from more than 20 U.S. cities.
And the winners are…
1. Pepperoni
2. Sausage
3. Garlic (?)
4. Olives (??)
5. Mushrooms
6. Onions
7. Chicken
8. Oregano
One has to wonder how much Chicago data was looked at. Sausage would have to be number one here… wouldn’t it?

Franz Ferdinand performed an new synth-boogied down track called “Feel the Love Go” last night on the ‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’. They were joined in the performance by special guest saxophonist James Chance. Hence why the questionable pun of ‘saxy’ was used in the title of this post.
The song has a real Talking Heads vibes to it right ?
According to a new study, the average American endures 1,205 stressful events a year and the number one expression of that frustration is swearing. Everyday stressing situations like for example your CTA train running late, can make us blow up and exclaim a curse word. The AVERAGE person drops their first swear word by 10:54 AM.
Those with particularly dirty mouths who are believed to be 1 in 4 don’t even make it to 9AM before dropping F-bombs and other words that would make Ralphie’s Mom from ‘A Christmas Story’ reach for a bar of soap.
We got the news today that Prince thought he was taking Vicodin when he died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl, almost 50 times stronger.
His estate shared a previously unreleased 1984 studio version of Nothing Compares 2 U including previously unseen rehearsal footage of Prince & The Revolution from the summer of 84.
A seven-inch vinyl single will also be released May 25th, while a limited-edition picture disc will be available exclusively through the Prince “HtNRun” online store.

Just in time for Earth Day (this Sunday), Apple’s introduced Daisy, their recycling robot.
Her job? You guessed it, to disassemble nine different versions of the iPhone, sorting all of their reusable components in the process. Daisy is a hard worker, too, capable of taking apart 200 iPhones in a given hour.
Apple’s making a donation to Conservation International, a Virginia-based environmental nonprofit, for every device turned in or traded until the end of the month.

Local H is on the Summerland Tour with Everclear and Marcy Playground, coming to the Forge in Joliet 6/16.
Once the Chicago Fire wraps up their 2018 season, their home stadium in Bridgeview will no longer be known as Toyota Park. Online ticket marketplace company SeatGeek will take over the naming rights, and the stadium will become SeatGeek Stadium.
The Tribune reports there are plans to add more lifestyle destinations and events to the stadium area, including restaurants, retail and concerts.
Like everyone else into superhero movies, I can’t wait for Avengers: Infinity War to be released this weekend.
But deep down inside, in a place that I don’t talk about at parties, there is a different Marvel Comic cinematic release that I crave more. Slightly off-kilter, filthy mouths, and a tongue-in-cheek mocking of the genre? I’m touching myself tonight.
See you next month….Mr. Pool. — [eric]
Westworld has shown us that humanoid robots want to be with humans but eventually that will not will end well. Enter England’s Now TV ahead of the next season of the robot western drama, pulled this brilliant prank of taking a human-like creep bot named ‘Fred’ and placed him in a bar where he had very awkward interactions with bar patrons. This video ends with Fred smashing a glass, while also promoting of course, Westworld.

Portugal. the Man continued to be quite awesome last night when they performed their hits ‘Live In The Moment’ and ‘Feel It Still’ on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’.
This weather suuuuckks. Today’s Cardinals/Cubs game at Wrigley’s been rescheduled for Thursday at 1:20pm; Lester will be on the mound.
And if you’re keeping track (what else would you be doing while you’re stuck inside?), this is the fifth Cubs postponement of the season. Four of them happened in the past 10 days.
