An Indiana House committee has advanced a billthat would adopt several Illinois counties that indicated they wanted to secede from the state, which acts as a shocking update to the story that we talked about last month. During that morning’s edition of Brian & Kenzie, we talked to Hoosiers who were ready to wage war on Illinois. We are now one step closer to that reality.
An organization called New Illinois has been pursuing the formation of a new state, “separate from the current State of Illinois, Urban Cook County and Chicago,” for several years. The process to annex those counties into Indiana would have to go through both Illinois and Indiana statehouses and Washington D.C. Redrawing state borders would ultimately take an act of Congress.
As five-decades worth of stars graced the screen on Sunday night, Adam Sandler stole the show. The longtime comedian performed an incredible five-minute tribute to the stars of yesteryear.

Marcus Jordan entered a not guilty plea deal following his DUI arrest last week.
Officers say that after they pulled him over, they tried to get Jordan to take breath tests, but he wouldn’t cooperate. Jordan, while in handcuffs, repeatedly referenced his father and big “big balls”. He also, while getting in the car, requested that they play “Mariah Carey up in this bitch”.
While Jordan hasn’t spoken out on his side of things, he did thank all his supporters who reached out to him in the days following his arrest.

We’re in the year of our Lord 2025 and the Grammys can’t stop giving awards to boomer-core bands. The Beatles, who released “Now And Then” this past year, won Best Rock Performance, beating out the likes of Green Day, Pearl Jam, and St. Vincent. For Best Rock Album, the Rolling Stones won out with their forgetful twenty-fourth studio record, Hackney Diamonds. The Stones beat out the likes of Fontaines DC, Green Day, Jack White, and Pearl Jam.
Boomers win again. Fontaines DC loses out because the Grammys can’t ever be forward-thinking. Green Day loses out because why bother giving it to a band that produced an excellent, relevant record. Pearl Jam loses because of course they did.
