Paramore live in The #SoundLounge!
Posted by 101 WKQX on Saturday, September 16, 2017
Prior to taking the stage today in Douglas Park at Riot Fest in front of thousands, Paramore performed an intimate session in the LOUNGE with hostess with the mostest Lauren. The discussion covered the band’s challenging journey back into the studio to record ‘After Laugther’, how singer Hayley Williams has overcome some issues, and how much the ‘parafamily’ feels for this music.
Here are the songs in this session and where to hear them in the video
Let’s hear it for the collective decency of the New Zealand drivers who held up rush hour to let a family of ducks cross a busy highway.
SH1 NORTHERN MWY, SOUTHBOUND – 7:45AM
Please allow a little extra time citybound on the Northern Mwy this morning with minor delays due to ducks crossing near Tristram Ave. NZ Police are now escorting all to safety. ^TP #becauseitsfriday #nocrashescaused pic.twitter.com/c38jB6lhV5— NZTA Akld & Nthlnd (@NZTAAkl) August 23, 2018
A ruptured gas line led to a fire that gutted the Blue Island restaurant Maple Tree Inn. Maple Tree Inn first opened in 1975, and became successful for its take on Creole and Cajun food (Fried Green Tomatoes and Crawfish Étouffée were an awesome dinner combo).
The owners say they’re “devastated emotionally,” but add “our team of employees is one of the best ever assembled in our 43 years of business and we will rebuild around them.”

We got a teaser of the “Suspiria” remake last month, and the just-released full length trailer elevates the creep factor. Radiohead’s Thom Yorke provides the score; it’s his first for a feature film. Suspiria arrives in theaters just in time for Halloween: October 26.

It’s that time of year when everyone thinks the entire autumn season is embodied in a sugary Pumpkin Spice latte from Starbucks. Forget Halloween, the fall foliage, NOPE, it’s all about PSL!
Starbucks confirmed this year the long-awaited seasonal treat will be available early for it’s 15th season, on August 28th. They also announced they will have an iced Pumpkin Spice latte. So be prepared to have a sugar rush around you (or inside you) before or after work in the weeks ahead.
The most amazing thing about this 16-bit recreation? It perfectly syncs up with the movie (fast forward to 5:09 to see)!
The jackpot has rolled over in the McHenry VFW Post 4600 Queen of Hearts raffle for weeks. And tonight, at 8pm, someone stands to take home 60% of the almost 4.3 million dollar jackpot (after taxes, of course).
ABC explains how the drawing works:
Who’s in?
From the VFW’s Instagram…
There’s a new trend called the “Tip the Bill Challenge,” where people are tipping servers 100%. I gotta be honest … the last time I tipped 100% I may have had a bit too much of the “Hazmat Liquid” and the LAST thing I wanted to do was brag about it. But now it has become the next big “online challenge”.
Wanna play? Here’s how it works.
If your bill is $25, you add a $25 tip on top of it. And some people have left WAY more than that.
Then you post the receipt online. So one reason it’s popular is you get to BRAG about it to your friends.
There are already about 2,000 posts on Instagram alone with the hashtag “TipTheBill” or “TipTheBillChallenge.”
C’mon Big Ballers, Tip Away!

Netflix is known for it’s binge experience with episodes of acclaimed shows like ‘GLOW ‘ and ‘Orange Is the New Black’ playing one after another, before the streaming video service asks “Are You Still Watching?” And part of the perks was the entire thing lacked traditional TV’s money-making hurdle: commercials. Well to some viewers that seems to be changing, but Netflix claims it’s not. doing that but simply trying to use data to recommend other shows on the platform.
For some Netflix users in the U.S. and the U.K., a short promo with a countdown clock for other shows on the video service are running before your episodes start. The ads range from 10- to 20-second. In an article in the New York Times, Netflix spokeswoman Smita Saran said, “These video promos are actually personalized recommendations for titles we think a member may enjoy watching. In this particular case, we are testing whether surfacing recommendations between episodes helps members discover stories they will enjoy faster.”
The intitative is not permanent yet with company officials that they will be “looking at [user] behavior within the service”.
Internet Today covers the news and what the reaction has been to the addition of promos (or commercials?) has been so far.
