Today the United Center, Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks announce a new multi-year partnership with PepsiCo, a global leader in the food and beverage industry. As the official soft drink provider, PepsiCo will deliver a variety of thirst-quenching beverages – including some of its most popular products, like Pepsi Zero Sugar, and its new lemon lime flavored soda STARRY – to passionate fans at all concessions and beverage stands throughout the arena, as well as the newly designed Pepsi Grab & Go store in the United Center Atrium.

Beyond these new beverage offerings, Pepsi and STARRY will go the extra mile and offer one-of-a-kind experiences to United Center guests all year long — starting with Bulls Fest August 19 – 20 where fans can have a chance to win beverages, game tickets, pre-game access and exclusive appearances. Later this year, shoppers at local retail stores can enter for a chance to win access to concert tickets, game tickets and gear from their favorite teams. To help fans enjoy more moments of unapologetic enjoyment at the United Center, Pepsi will create unique VIP experiences and activations that span across sports, music and entertainment for select fans to have opportunities of a lifetime.

“Chicagoans live and breathe sports, entertainment, and creativity. Our athletes, artists, and fans are some of the most passionate in the world and the United Center hosts the city’s most unforgettable moments,” said Kalen Thornton, VP of Sports, Gaming and Entertainment, PBNA. “Our company’s longstanding presence here in Chicago goes back more than 100 years, where we’ve fueled iconic athletes in the game and celebrated fandom off the court. The expanded partnership with the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks is the ultimate opportunity for us to continue giving back to our neighbors and support our culture. We can’t wait to lift up Chicago fans, its teams and players, and our city’s vibrant community with epic experiences brought to you by iconic brands like Pepsi, our new lemon lime flavored soda STARRY, fan favorite MTN DEW and more.”

As far as we’re concerned, any place with Mountain Dew is a place we want to be.

Northwestern faculty group seeks delay of Ryan Field renovations after football hazing scandal

After the recent allegations that have rocked Northwestern’s athletic department, faculty is now putting pressure on the university to delay the renovations of Ryan Field that were planned to begin after the 2023 season and conclude in the 2026 season.

“The timing now is wrong,” said professor Susan Pearson, one of a group of Northwestern faculty members asking for a pause on the new Ryan Field proposal. “Say we care more about your well-being than we do about the notoriety, the fame of our football program.”

It’s unclear at this point what the financial fallout of this story will be, but the legacy of Northwestern’s football program will forever be changed.

FDA to investigate Logan Paul’s PRIME drink over caffeine content

Sen. Charles Schumer called on the Food and Drug Administration to investigate PRIME, a beverage brand founded by the YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI, and to warn parents about the drink and the high amount of caffeine it contains.A 12-oz. can of PRIME Energy contains 200 milligrams of caffeine, which is equivalent to about half a dozen Coke cans or nearly two Red Bulls, and that is what terrifies lawmakers.

PRIME is primarily targeted towards people under the age of 18, thus the concern for making sure consumers know what they’re consuming.

What are you drinking and how much do you drink it? The conversation lives on Facebook!

If you got a ticket in Chicago, you could be entitled to a class action lawsuit

If you have received a ticket from the city of Chicago, you could already be included in a new class-action lawsuit alleging the city violated Illinois law by charging you too much. Good news for Brian, as he speeds constantly. The lawsuit stems from the way Chicago handles its parking tickets and other matters, as the city utilizes a special administrative court.

@nbcchicago

If you have received a ticket from the city of Chicago, you could already be included in a new class-action lawsuit alleging the city violated Illinois law by charging you too much. This week, a judge approved class-action status for a lawsuit originally filed last year by two men who claimed Chicago broke the law when it charged them more than $250 in fines and penalties for the same violation. #chicago #chicagonews #chicagoparking

To level the playing field, Illinois state law limits the amount of fines and penalties for a single violation to $250. The new lawsuit accuses the city of doubling the fines and penalties for late payments so that some car owners wound up owing thousands of dollars.

Pat Fitzgerald dismissed as coach of Northwestern Football, baseball coach could be next

Northwestern President Michael Schill released a statement on Monday afternoon informing the community that Pat Fitzgerald would no longer be coaching Northwestern Football going forward. He said, “This afternoon, I informed Head Football Coach Pat Fitzgerald that he was being relieved of his duties effective immediately.”

Schill previously said he may have made a mistake in his prior punishment directed towards Fitzgerald.

Now, reports indicate that their baseball program may also be under hot water. News surfaced yesterday that coach Jim Foster has engaged in activity that has been described as “bullying and abusive”.

The university’s report indicated that it did not find enough corroborating evidence to support those allegations, according to Parkins, but the investigation did not interview players regarding the claims.
