Craig Counsell’s first Cubs press conference was one for the ages

The Cubs have their guy.

No, they don’t have Shohei Ohtani or Cody Bellinger (yet), but they have Craig Counsell, and in his first press conference with his new squad, he seemed like the right man for the job. In front of the media, Counsell explained that “it’s time to be a Cub.”

“That is the challenge I have ahead of me,” Counsell said. “It’s a big one. It takes time but it’s the one I have to get right.”

While the White Sox continue to shed talent, the Cubs future is possibly brighter than ever before.

Update on girl who got her boyfriend’s name “tattooed” on her forehead

Last week, Brian & Kenzie were talking about this girl who got her boyfriend’s name “tattooed” across her forehead.

Most people (myself included) could tell it was fake (have you ever SEEN an actual tattoo?)

But she argued it was real.

And kept arguing it was real

And kept posting videos arguing that it’s real

And kept posting and kept arguing, in fact she was “sick and tired of everyone thinking her tattoo was fake.”

@anastanskovsky

Replying to @Dydyfycy Let me prove its real #tattoo #facetattoo

Until she admitted it was fake. But she lied about getting it for a good reason…

She doesn’t want young people making the same mistake. But I don’t think she is giving young people enough credit. But just in case she is, YOUNG PEOPLE: PLEASE DON’T GET A KEVIN FOREHEAD TATTOO. <3 Lauren

AWOLNATION: Candy Pop

Our friends in AWOLNATION are back with a brand new EP full of three excellent songs and a pair of exciting remixes. As always, the music from AWOLNATION is an exciting step forward from a band who never rests on what they’ve done previously. This collection is no different.

Cannons: Heartbeat Highway

Cannons are back with their fourth studio album, Heartbeat Highway. Led by their excellent single “Loving You”, which you heard first on Q101, their new record clocks in at 12 songs in 39 minutes with each of them radiating the dreamy, soothing presence that Cannons has become so known for.

Fitz and the Tantrums: Perfect Holiday

Akin to AWOLNATION, Fitz and the Tantrums are back with a 5 song EP. Unlike AWOLATION, Fitz brings to the table five original holiday songs including “Give Love This Year” and “Some Kind of Christmas”. If you need to get into the spirit, this is the best place to start.

Maneskin: Rush! (Are You Coming?)

Move over, Neil Peart. Despite Kenzie’s justified confusion over the recent “Rush” billboards outside Allstate Arena, the prog-rock icons are not coming back. Maneskin,, the Italian standouts, however, are back with a re-release of this year’s Rush! and this time they’ve tacked on five bonus tracks.

Dolton mayor left speechless when asked about questionable spending, Las Vegas trip

Our friends at WGN have conducted the single greatest interview of the year. The mayor of Dolton, Illinois is currently under fire after her questionable spending habits came to light. Those habits including thousands of dollars on BBQ and a trip to Las Vegas. When Mayor Tiffany Henyard was grilled by Ben Bradley.

WGN Investigates also obtained copies of the township’s credit card statements, too. It showed township taxpayers also spent money on the Vegas trip. Charges included more than $8,400 for hotels; $587 at Ruth’s Chris Steak House and $3,741, just on Henyard’s roundtrip flight.

Cubs emerge as “the most aggressive” candidate for Shohei Ohtani

The Ricketts Family are getting ready to spend a lot of money.

After a disappointing September that caused the Cubs to miss the playoffs, they’ve been a mover-and-shaker this offseason. They stole Craig Counsell from the Brewers, and it would appear that they’re making a real run at Shohei Ohtani.

For those that may have forgot, Ohtani is this generation’s Babe Ruth.

The White Sox, meanwhile, announced. months ago that they won’t be in the Ohtani race.

Malört made Thanksgiving dinner in a bottle

The controversial Chicago liqueur, Malört has hopped on the trend of adding flavors found on the dinner table at Thanksgiving to their product. The new flavor for the holiday is called Malörtsgiving and will taste of turkey bullion, cranberry and sage. As of right now it will only be available at CH Distillery, a shot is $8 while a bottle costs $150 with proceeds aiding those affected by cancer. Is there a possibility this could taste good and become popular, or will it be more of a collectors item?

Would you try this new flavor, is it going to be good or is it just a gimmick? Take part in the conversation over on Facebook! – Joey Domenick

Craig Counsell shocks the baseball world, signs largest managerial contract in history with Cubs

Milwaukee’s now-ex manager Craig Counsell is a very rich man.

Counsell, who played for the Brewers for the majority of his major league career, turned his back on his hometown team and signed a shocking, five-year contract worth over $40 million. This came as a shock to the baseball world as he was expected to sign with the Mets.

This, of course, leaves David Ross without a job. It’s not impossible for him to end up in Milwaukee, according to a new report.

This is without a doubt, one of the most shocking days in Cubs history.

Tyson Bagent struggles as Bears lose a winnable game on the road

Tyson Bagent may not be the guy. In his third week as the Bears starting quarterback, the son of a champion-level arm wrestler, struggled again as the Bears let a possible win in New Orleans slip away on Sunday. He finished the game 18-for-30 for 220 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions while also adding 70 yards on the ground. The turnovers, in the end, rendered the Bears without hope.

The Bears entered the fourth quarter tied at 17, but a series of wasted possessions gave the Saints a chance to score and never look back. With a final score of 24-17 in favor of New Orleans, the Bears now sit at 2-7, third last in the NFC.
