It is a crazy sight to see hundreds of people crowded around one another, let alone none of them are wearing masks.
But that is exactly what hundreds of protestors have begun doing in protest against IL governor JB Pritzker’s continued stay at home order.
It is annoying to have to stay home, and some people are really struggling operating their businesses, and these protestors want the IL governor to know that they have had enough of it.
Hopefully no one get’s sick from these protests, that would look awful for their cause…

Tonight we get even more of the must-see documentary ‘the Last Dance’ which shows off the memorable play of the 90’s Chicago Bulls who had many characters off the court, including the rebounding wild man Dennis Rodman. ‘The Worm’ was known for spending a lot of time off court partying and enjoying life to the fullest. One night in Seattle as the Bulls were practicing before taking on the then-very formidable Sonics the next day, Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder was trying to get the raucous Rodman to calm down and do some relaxing reading, but Rodman was not having it. It was 6pm in Seattel, by 9:30 that night Rodman and Vedder were right off stage at a Jane’s Addiction. show in Las Vegas. You can listen to Vedder tell the whole story during a recent podcast interview with sports wizard Bill Simmons.
Rodman sat down with Genius to get quized about “his” band, Pearl Jam. Damn, Rodman really knows PJ. He even has a Carman Electra / Cypress Hill story in here.
In these challenging COVID times, the once-dead ‘drive in’ is making a big comeback with a local example being the McHenry Drive In.The past two weekends they have been turning away people from their once-shuttered drive-in theater. It is a workaround for the many of us that want to get out but still want to maintain social distance, so that same format had to expanded to live entertainment right? In Denmark and Germany, live concerts at drive-ins started in April and now it looks like they could expand to the United States in the parking lot of one of the most popular sports franchises in America, the New York Yankees.
MASC Hospitality, a production company that produces street festivals around the NYC area is reportedly working on the Uptown Drive-In at
the parking lot of Yankees Stadium. Brooklyn Vegan reports the event could possibly be held on weekends in July with carnival-like offerings including raffles, games, food, and of course, live music. This is a “complete drive-in” experience according to a statement from the organizers.
So this raises the question, can we do this in the parking lot near one of our arenas? 35th street party in our vans, maybe?

Local H’s latest album LIFERS came out a month ago, and the hauntingly beautiful track #6 ‘Sunday Best’ just got an equally haunting music video treatment out of quarantine. Enjoy, and listen to the entire album below! <3 Lauren
“Scott Lucas says “Sunday Best” is “a love song in the most macro way possible,” continuing, “trying to place our tiny individual relationships in the tiny continuum of our tiny family blood-lines. And then put THAT into the whole of human existence — which is actually pretty tiny — and still come away with the thought that finding love is some kind of miracle. It’s like a rebuke to that Bogart line in Casablanca about the troubles of two people not adding up to a ‘hill of beans.’ What we’re saying is that the hill of beans is EVERYTHING. If nothing matters — maybe everything matters.” Read more from Brooklyn Vegan HERE.
Prince paved the way for wild new places in music with his expansive embrace of rock, soul, funk, and everything else you can think of in a near perfect mix that became his ground breaking ‘Purple Rain’ album. So successful it had a film adaption and last impact on generations of music fans to this day. With the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, Google and YouTube have partnered with the estate of Prince to raise funds for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (powered by UN Foundation and Swiss Philanthropy Foundation) with a special streaming event that revives that special era of music.

This specific performance was filmed in Syracuse, New York but was the same month the Purple One and his collective of superstars played 5 sold-out shows at was then, the Rosemont Horizon. We are thinking deeply of our hard-working friends in the local live music business at this uncertain time, and that is why 101WKQX is launching a special 34 hour radiothon to benefit the impacted staff of Chicago’s shuttered independent music venues. Tune in Thursday, May 21st through May 22nd for this special event featured Brian, Ali, and Justin from the KQX Morning Crew with many more pledging to SAVE OUR STAGES. Read more about that here.
Ace Pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays Blake Snell went on a rant and talked about why he refuses to play for a reduced pay during the corona virus pandemic.
He feels that it’s more of a risk to leave his house and play in the first place, so why would he do it for less money??
Can you blame the guy too? He just signed a $50 million contract and now they want to suddenly pay him less and risk his health?
Barstool Sports Founder Dave Portnoy created a video that he uploaded to Twitter early yesterday morning where he gave his opinion on what the response to COVID-19 lockdowns should be.
In simple terms it looks like he is tired of the lockdown and wants to go back to work.
Does he have a point here? Is it necessary to go back to work and risk getting the virus, or stay inside and possibly ruin the economy.
Either way until there is a vaccine, IF there is going to be one, it looks like we are in for a win lose scenario.
Stay home and stay healthy, but the economy is decimated. Or go back to work and get sick, which is not exactly a better choice.
Comedy Central continues it’s unique movie recap web series ‘Dope Movies’ which features comedian Clayton English taking in bong rips and laying down movie riffs on the game-changing ‘Jurrassic Park’. This movie was a mandatory must-see flick for any 90’s kid, but now those kids are bigger kids who have embraced higher learning to see it all in a new light.
The animation on English’s riffs are on point, the impression of Samuel L. Jackson, and the thought provoking notion that back in the 1990’s people could hack into computers too quickly. Also a discovery about the premise of the movie you can only reach in this altered state of mind.
