I’ve always looked at old, outdated computers as glorified doorstops. Someone just made that thought invalid.
His name is Pinot W. Ichwandardi — and leave it to an artist to take two Apple computers from the 1980s & make a Twenty One Pilots visual masterstroke. This lyric video for “Level Of Concern” just transported me back to my days of henpecking away during typing class in junior high school — and now I feel like Tyler and Josh owe me a pizza boat.
Following the video, you can read a Twitter thread from the creator about he and his family made it. Floppy disks forever. 🖖 — [eric]

Dropkick Murphys have been bleeding Boston red for decades now, so who better…excuse me BETTAH to play an empty Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox with a special remote guest cameo from the Boss, Bruce Springsteen. You can watch the entire show here which is just spectacle as the boys take up the whole diamond with the drums set up on second base. It’s quite the visual thrill to see 73,000 plus watching the show live at one point. It was really charming as well to see ‘SNL’ alum Rachel Dratch jump in with some comedy during a break between songs.
The Murphs were the first to jump into the special streaming shows during quarantine when they converted their annual hometown show into a streaming event for charity and this memorable gig is no different with the Boston Resiliency Fund, Habitat for Humanity, and Feeding America all tied in. You can donate at donate.dropkickmuprhys.com.
If you are looking for more great concerts to binge on, we got a LOT of quarantine concerts we’ve been streaming from the LOUNGE. Watch more here on 101WKQX.COM.
The NBA could tip off again July 31, according to commissioner Adam Silver.
The news came out of a league board of governors virtual meeting today. A formal announcement is expected soon. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports most owners expect the announcement to come within the next week.
It’s still unclear what this will all look like, when play resumes. There’s a chance the NBA will jump straight to modified postseason playoffs.
Summer vacations will look different this year . . . and lots of people are just scrapping the whole deal.
A new survey asked workers if they’re planning to take a vacation this summer . . . and the majority say, “Uh, nope.
37% are saving their vacation time for later in the year when they hope it’ll be okay to travel again . . . 22% won’t take time off because they’re worried about money . . . and 14% won’t take a vacation because they have too much work to do.
That means three-quarters of people say they won’t be taking time off to go on a summer vacation this year.
The survey also found only 25% of people say their company or boss has encouraged them to take some time off. And 9% say they’ve been discouraged from taking a summer vacation.
Here’s the newest life hack from TikTok that may or may not work. People online are claiming that cereal is WAY better if you put it in the freezer before you add milk.
A bunch of TikTok users posted videos, so a writer at BuzzFeed tried it. She was skeptical but said it really does make a difference. Quote, “It’s almost like you haven’t properly had cereal until you’ve put a bowl in the freezer.”
It’s not clear how long you’re supposed to leave it in there. But she did it for an hour and said it worked with Cheerios and Honey Bunches of Oats. The main drawback is it turns a bowl of cereal into an hour-long process.
(Warning: The TikTok videos near the top of the BuzzFeed article have uncensored profanity.)
Free samples are coming back to Costco in a few weeks.
A “modified” sample program will be put in place, which the company’s CFO described on an earnings call: “It’s not going to be where you go and just pick up an open sample with your fingers.”
Free samples haven’t been offered since March because of COVID-19.
The “happiest place on Earth” Disney World is planning to open for the first time in several months on July 11th with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom with Epcot and Hollywood Studios following on July 15th. Disney reopened Disneyland Shanghai in China with COVID-19 precautions in place a few weeks ago, and is leveling up capacity there as they progress. How is the ‘House of Mouse’ working on the same pattern in Orlando, Florida?
Last week Disney Springs, an entertainment complex in Oralndo was reopened with precautions, social distancing being enforced, limited capacity, and some stores just being not open. That gives some idea of how the main park will be operated on a larger scale.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek spoke to CNBC today (watch in the video above) about the reopening of the massive theme park and how the company is managing the situation moving forward.
So here are the details on the precautions being put into place:

Henry Cavill has portrayed Superman well in three blockbuster DC Cinematic Universe films, with the films themselves have gotten mixed reactions but could the British actor return the role? It seemed less likely after 2017’s ‘Justice League’ was blasted down at the box office, but with the undeniable hype around director Zack Synder getting the long sought-after re-cut of the superhero team-up, there is now new hope that Cavill could put the cape on again. Deadline reported yesterday Cavill is in negations to appear once more in a DCCU release in the future.
The article notes that a Superman ‘Man of Steel 2’ sequel is not happening. Wonder Woman 1984 is already done. The last son of Krypton could appear in ‘the Batman’. Superman did appear in ;Shazam’ but not portrayed by Cavill, could he be in the planned ‘Shazam 2’ pr maybe he gets into action with Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson’s ‘Black Atom’. Comic Book Cast breaks it all down in the video above.
Why pick a new color to paint your house on your own when you could leave the decision up to millions of strangers.
A guy named Brian Landreth in Portland, Oregon was working with his daughter Grace on a school project about collecting data. So they put five paint colors on the side of their house, then put a sign up asking people to vote for a color online.
But . . . their neighbor tweeted a picture of the project and said, quote, “My neighbor is crowdsourcing their next house color” and the tweet went viral. So now, thousands of people from all over the world are voting on the paint color.
Based on the comments on Twitter, it seems like turquoise blue is leading.

Well nerds, I fuckin' did it.
Took me a global pandemic and a damn quarantine, but I did it.

You wouldn’t be wrong for saying that getting a hot pizza from Home Run Inn restaurant location is a deeply rewarding experience, but there’s a lot to be said for their frozen pizza. In a word, it’s awesome. And it’s no surprise that it’s been in high demand as we’ve all been sheltering in place.
According to the Tribune, Home Run Inn started cranking out the frozen pizzas seven days a week on March 16. The result? Close to 80,000 pizzas a day. That’s an almost 33% increase from before the days of COVID-19.
The Trib also notes that none of Home Run Inn’s roughly 500 employees have been furloughed or laid off, thanks to a federal Payroll Protection Program.
As businesses begin the process of reopening, it was only a matter of time before movie theaters began to put their reopening plans in place.
Since seats in movie theaters are so close together, look for the number of moviegoers allowed into theaters to be limited. Some managers have even talked about implementing a “checkerboard” seating style.
Another change in seating being talked about is not allowing someone to sit in the same seat as someone from a previous showing, so that seats can be properly sanitized between shows. None of the big chains are putting a date on reopening, but those conversations are definitely well under way.
