Everything on Peacock, NBC’s new streaming service

Yes, another streaming service launched yesterday with NBC Universal’s Peacock with a huge offering on both on-demand and live content from their vast library of shows, movies, exclusive original series, big name sporting events, and a lot more. They got the most streamed TV show of all time in ‘the Office’ and many more titles you will be familiar with plus a unique offering of a free version, an ad-supported version, and premium ad-free.

You can get Peacock through their official website or various offical apps. The service is available on Android, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, Vizio smart TVs, and LG Smart TVs. Unfortunately Peacock is not yet available on Amazon Fire sticks or Roku players. It will be available on Playstation 5 next week. Peacock will only be available in the United States.

Unlike Netflix and other streaming services, Peacock is offering a free version with no more than five minute ads per hour. Peacock Premium features much more content with ads for $4.99 a month and there is ad-free tier for $9.99 a month.

Comcast Xfinity customers have already Peacock since April as the ad-supported tier was integrated into their X1 and Flex devices. According to multiple reports, Comcast which owns NBC Universal, will continue offer free access to Peacock Premium to their internet and cable TV customers. If you have Comcast, you can upgrade your Peacock Premium to the ad-free tier for $4.99 a month. NBC is working on similar deals with other cable and internet providers.

This frozen bird proves that the simulation is glitching!

I’m not suggesting that we are in a simulation… I’m STATING we’re in one.

Look, even the birds are starting to glitch.

We’re onto you, um…simulation person thing!

A Squirrel has tested positive for the bubonic plague in Colorado

Maybe we should stay inside and not come out until 2020 is over.

Apparently there was a squirrel in Colorado that was tested positive with having the bubonic plague.

Why did they test a squirrel for this in the first place? How’d they even find this squirrel??? There are like a billion squirrels and they found the one with the bubonic plague!

I’m getting tired of the simulation people!

Shaquille O’Neal stops to help stranded Florida driver

Shaq might be the greatest human alive, there I said it!

He stopped on the highway to help out a woman who’s tire blew out. What other former NBA superstar would do that?

I don’t see MJ helping out a neighbor with their garden, or Kevin Garnett teaching old people how to use technology!

This is why Shaq is the human GOAT. Just a pure lad!

Chicago to offer debt forgiveness to students who re-enroll and complete their degrees at city colleges

If you’re on good standing with a former city college maybe now is the time to go back and get all that student loan debt eliminated!

Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced that the city will be offering a new program that will eliminate existing student loan debts to pre-existing students who re-enroll with a city college and earn their degree or certificate.

This is all apart of the city’s new “Fresh Start” program that will help take the burden of student debt off of Chicagoans backs and allow them to educate themselves and hopefully put them in better financial territory in the future.

Not a bad idea!

Post Malone got Travis Kelce’s and Pat Mahomes’ signatures tattooed on him!

Post Malone just posted a photo revealing his newest ink thanks to Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.

The artist lost a game of beer pong to the two football players and told them that he would get their names tattooed on him, and Posty is a man of his word.

You know what… He has worse tattoos.

At least he didn’t get them tattooed on his face!

The Chicago Marathon has been canceled

With thousands of people participating and lining the streets cheering on runners there is a well deserved concern over the continued spread of the coronavirus.

This is why the Chicago Marathon will not be taking place in 2020.

Participants will get their entry fee’s back and will be allowed to keep their spot for one of the upcoming races in the next 3 years.

It’s sad, but the right move!

WOJ apologizes for his remarks to a senator while players defend him

After being suspended for emailing a senator “F You” players seem to have WOJ’s back after his suspension from ESPN.

Adrian Wojnarowski originally sent the profane email to Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo after a statement came out of the senator’s office criticizing the league allowing players to wear civil rights messages on their jerseys in the NBA restart.

WOJ is a professional so of course he made an apology.

But NBA players know whats really up and showed their support online.

Washington’s NFL team are changing their name

The NFL team in Washington will no longer have the name that many found  deeply offensive, and the team owner’s Dan Snyder made it official today saying that after reviewing the matter, they will be changing the name and logo. This comes after weeks of pressure from fans and sponsors to change the name which many believed to be racist towards Native Americans. Sports talking good guy and NFL vet Pat McAfee broke it all down in this clip from today’s episode of his Westwood One show. Subscribe to his podcast here.

Former Washington player Dante Stallworth joined CNN to talk about why the change of the 87 year old team’s name is overdue and why business motivated the move. Watch the discussion here:

Comedian Clayton English’s highlarious recap of ‘Meteor Man’

Comedy Central continues it’s unique movie recap web series ‘Dope Movies’ which features comedian Clayton English taking in bong rips and laying down movie riffs on the forgotten superhero fighting for his neighborhood flick, ‘Meteor Man’. This 1993 film features  a pretty ridiculous spin on the super hero genre featuring a substitute teacher becoming the hero,

The villains in the movie, the Golden Lords are a street gang that all have blonde hair and they enter scenes with a tiger on a leash. People absorb powers directly from books. Yeah, who needs to read right?! I guess they were going for the noble ‘knowledge is power’ idea.

The ending sees English add his own specific spin on this movie.

Local Chicago boys Pedro and Ramiro Castro helped produced this web series and they are going to have a watch party on Saturday, July 18th. You can sign up for that here.
