Chicago’s Rainforest Cafe closing & the weird history of theme restaurants

At the corner of Ohio and Clark for 23 years, Rainforest Cafe has been a tourist trap of giant molded plastic animals luring in families with a gift shop that has a restaurant behind it but those days are gone, as this week came the news that it’s closing. Block Club Chicago published this detailed report yesterday about how the pandemic helped speed up the closure plans that had been in the works for some time. You can also see on-site pictures of the store’s signs being dismantled in the article.

In the video above, Innovision 3D breaks down how the chain restaurant has faded off from it’s trendy highs in the 90s.  The video also digs deep into the concept of theme restaurants goes back to the 1800’s. Yeah, it was a thing way before Planet Hollywood.

Here is another video from Erik Nicholas showing off what the Rainforest Cafe in Chicago looked like with all of it’s animal decorations.

Botched nose job gives man 3 month long erection

This is the strangest side effect i’ve heard of…

Neven Ciganovic, a blogger and TV personality from Zagreb, Croatia, underwent rhinoplasty surgery in Iran in 2017 because he has this weird goal of looking like a Bratz doll.

I mean check the guy out, seems perfectly normal.

Well, the nose job in Iran went wrong and left the personality with an erection that lasted 3 MONTHS!

Doctors tried to correct the issue by draining the blood out of his penis. Guess what though… DIDN’T WORK!!!

So now I guess he can at least go for some sort of world record. I mean he has to have beaten it by now right!?!

Take a look at the first socially distant concert venue

We posted about this a while ago, but now it’s a reality. In Newcastle, England this week the country’s first socially distant concert venue opened up and of course, we got a look at how it’s operating through social media posts. Here is what the Virgin Money ty Arena looks liked for a sold-out from the first show with Sam Fender. Music Biz dug into how the venue could influence massive changes to the future of live music with the global pandemic.

The way they are doing it is giving everyone their enclosures to main tain the distance. The capacity for the venue is 2500. All drinks and food can be pre-ordered.

Some big names in UK alternative are playing Unity Arena in the weeks and months to come including Two Door Cinema Club, the Libertines, and more.

Big 12 still plans to play

Less than 12 hours after the Big Ten and PAC-12 announced cancellations of all Fall sports, the Big 12 says, ‘hike!’ ESPN reports the conference says it’s moving forward with plans to kick off the fall football season with a revised schedule, also released Wednesday.

Commissioner Bob Bowlsby released a statement saying, “Ultimately, our student-athletes have indicated their desire to compete in the sports they love this season and it is up to all of us to deliver a safe, medically sound, and structured academic and athletic environment for accomplishing that outcome.”

The current conference-only schedule is slated to begin Sept. 26 with teams each getting two bye-weeks.

Business puts up billboard calling out their neighbors for putting up a fence

Pettiness is a dangerous drug.

Take this for instance. This businesses’ neighbors put up a fence just so they would have a bad view on their patio.

So they called their neighbors out.

Check out the new fence installed specifically to block our view. Nice people who took over the business next door. Says a lot about your character.

How could they ruin their view like that! Such jerks!!!
