Emergency landing at O’Hare caused by hail shattering window!

Flying is terrifying, you never know what could happen.

Like hail! Who ever thinks about hail while flying!

Don’t worry, everyone was ok.

And it’s actually really safe to fly… even if hail exists.

But still, that had to be scary!

EVENT WEEK SCHEDULE:

  • Mid-October   |   Pet “Howl-oween” Costume Contest
  • Thursday, October 29, 7:00pm   |   Virtual Opening Ceremonies
  • Saturday, October 31, 10:00am – 12:00pm  |  Virtual PAWS Chicago 5K Walk/Run For Their Lives Event

WHY:     The 20th Annual PAWS Chicago 5K Walk Run is critically important to funding the life-saving programs at PAWS Chicago. Since its founding in 1997, the number of homeless pets killed in the city has been reduced by 91%, but there is still so much work left to do to reach a truly No Kill community. Proceeds from the event helps PAWS save homeless dogs and cats who are still at risk, and ensures every rescued pet receives the individualized, nurturing care they need for a happy, healthy life. PAWS Chicago’s work is 100% reliant on the support of the community.
And just look how cute Big Reg looks in his costume!
Help out the puppies!

Pro Go-Kart driver throws bumper at opponent then immediately quits the sport

Alright there is a lot of fun to unpack here.

There is a pro Go-Kart circuit out there apparently, and they take it super seriously.

So seriously that after an incident, this racer threw his bumper at an opponent on the track.

But he wasn’t done there. He found his opponent after the race and tried to fight him.

He then immediately retired from the sport. He swore to never race again.

What a way to go out. A true blaze of glory.

Lady Gaga mashed up with Linkin Park? Yup, someone did it.

If you’ve ever wondered what Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” would sound like over the music of “Faint” from Linkin Park, I have to wonder what’s going on inside that head of yours.  Seriously.  That just sounds like one loud, crazy circus.

For the rest of us, take a listen.  I can’t believe how well it blends.  Or mashes, as it were.

The 20th anniversary special edition of Hybrid Theory, featuring pictures and keepsakes from fans, just dropped in stores this week by the way.  — [eric]

Watch Jack White perform on ‘Saturday Night Live’

Jack White stepped in at the last minute this week to perform on the NBC institution ‘Saturday Night Live’ when country singer Morgan Waller broke the show’s COVID-19 protocols by partying like there is not a pandemic going on. White provided two separate numbers on the show hosted by stand up comedy champion Bill Burr. He performed a medley of the White Stripes deep cut

“Ball and Biscuit,” with the reimagined take on the Elephant track to feature both a slice of his Beyoncé Lemonade duet “Don’t Hurt Yourself” as well as “Jesus Is Coming Soon,” a traditional gospel song that was written during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. He followed this up later by tearing it down with ‘Lazeretto’.

White shared on Instagram that the guitar he used in the performance was designed by the legendary Eddie Van Halen, who passed away earlier this week.

Stream unearthed Linkin Park lost track ‘Pictureboard’

Linkin Park’s devoted fans have known this song has existed as it’s was played at live shows in their very early days, but now they can finally stream it. As part their expansive 20th-anniversary edition of their breakout album ‘Hybrid Theory’, LP has released this new-to-the-world song ‘Pictureboard’. It’s worth noting this is a ‘demo’ without complete production but man, does this sound really good.

Though singer Chester Bennington has passed, it’s endearing to see how the band has kept the spirit of their work alive with this well-done reissue. MIke Shinoda did this unboxing where he digs into all the goodies in the box set.

Saturday night’s alright…

Jack White will be the musical guest this weekend on Saturday Night Live.

He replaces Morgan Waller after the country singer violated SNL safety protocols, partying last weekend like it wasn’t Covid 19-99..

Bill Burr will host.

White Stripes announced their first official Greatest Hits collection will be released December 4th.

Do you think Jack will perform a Van Halen tune in honor of the late Eddie Van Halen?

Charles Barkley lost $100,000 when the Falcons blew the Super Bowl!

You know what game would be the worst to lose a $100,000 bet on? Super Bowl LI, where the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead against the Patriots.

Ask Charles Barkley how it feels, because that’s exactly what he did!

Yikes!

He must’ve gone through the entire range of emotions that night!
