When you think “dream job,” what comes to mind? Getting paid to play with puppies? listen to music? (it rules) browse the internet? If you said browse the internet then this job for Opera is for you!
Imagine getting paid for browsing the web. Imagine no more. We’re looking for a personal browser – a person whose task is to browse the web. Yup, you heard us right.
Sounds like a joke? It sure isn’t.
As a “Personal Browser” your task is to browse the far corners of the web and talk about the fun and the weird stuff you come across. We will help you to find the good stuff – as, quite frankly, we have seen it all. Your work days will be shared online.
For this important role, we’re looking for the kind of person who loves silly memes, watching baby seal videos and studying conspiracy theories. Yes, you.
You can think of it as a damn great gig. You’ll get paid €8,000 for two weeks of something you’d otherwise do for fun. You can finally turn your pleasure into business, browse for money. Now, that’s the easiest coin you will ever earn. And you can do it from anywhere in the world.
We don’t demand much from you
You love the web
You know what a browser is
You talk to yourself, a lot
You have a computer and a stable internet connection
You speak fluent English
You are at least 18 years old
Just imagine all the weird stuff you will find! Find out how to apply HERE. <3 Lauren
A Japanese adult film company Soft on Demand just opened up their very own five story ‘adults only’ theme park in the red-light district of Tokyo, Japan. They are calling it SOD Land.
The 18 and up theme park only costs $5 to enter, and has real life adult film stars serve guests.
If you REALLY want to start sending people naked pictures of yourself . . . and who doesn’t? … but you’re worried about those pictures getting leaked, here’s a solution.
There’s a new app called e-gree that lets you create a legally-binding non-disclosure agreement with someone before you start sexting.
Once you both sign the NDA, if they leak your nude photos, you can sue them and have the same legal standing you’d have if a lawyer had drawn up the contract for you
You can download e-gree for free for Apple or Android, and if you want to set up one of these sexting NDAs, it’s only 99 cents.
Happy Birthday to Tim McIlrath of our beloved hometown heroes Rise Against. His passion for music, doing what’s right, and representing Chicago in such a special way has never wavered since the band broke out to be a worldwide sensation. Over the years at PIqniq, the Nights We Stole Christmas, and even just running him into on the streets like right after playing Wrigley Field, Tim has always just been down to Earth around these larger-than-life situations. Let’s celebrate our special times with Tim and the RA gang down below.
Listen to our new long-form interview on our new History of Alternative with Tim McIlrath about how politics have inspired some incredible songs in the alternative space.
Feeling a Halloween candy hangover? Listen to RA’s Tim sing Misfits ‘Halloween’ with Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance, Mike Herrera of MxPx/Goldfinger, Angels & Airwaves drummer Atom Willard, and Ryan ‘Fluff’ Bruce from Dragged Under.
At Piqniq saw two superheroes unite to bring ‘power to the people’ as Tom Morello had McIlrath join him on-stage with a lot of WKQX listeners. It was surreal to say the least. Watch this wild video of that here.
Spend some time with this special Lounge session we taped with Tim and our various interviews with him through the years.
The latest Smashing Pumpkins album ‘CYR’ drops on November 27th and we’ve already gotten a solid taste of the 33-song collection with the album title track and several animated music videos but this weekend we got two new tracks from the band. They are both quite different but see the band doing something quite fresh yet still invigorating to longtime fans of the Chicago alternative icons.
‘Wyttch’ is a perfect track for your post-Halloween desires for the creepy and scary side of life. The swerving beat, the thumping bass, and Billy almost casting a spell with the lyrics. It has a very epic feel to get your head bobbing up and down. This could be a really great song to see live with the loud chants and thundering guitar parts.
‘Ramona’ this track sees the Pumpkins embraced the new wavey keyboard-driven synth-pop that they have utilized in the past. It feels like a song we could hear on a Muse album, am I right?! The story of this ‘Ramona’ character also stirs up reminders of the classic Tarantino ‘Kill Bill’ movies minus the sword fights. In a statement issued to the press, the video has a “surreal gothic-western inspired love-story.”
You know our favorite weekend hobby. It’s perusing the Chicago Police Department’s scanner of course!!!
This weekend we had a lot of ~spooky~ police calls going out.
Here’s what we heard:
Saturday 1:56 PM – Grant park – Male mid 50’s dressed as a clown disturbing the peace in the park. Reports of him using a magnifying glass to kill bugs.
Saturday 7:43PM – State/Lake – Group of people dressed as telatubbies reportedly racing wheel chairs down state street.
Saturday 10:12 PM – 834 Victoria Drive in Montgomery – There’s a 7 year old reporting that his parents stole his Halloween candy and are smoking marijuana. He’s upset they made him go to bed. He’s requesting we send an officer to the residence to throw his parents in jail for theft.
Saturday 10:48 PM – 1140 Lasalle in the city – Someone is puking off their balcony and it’s hitting people below. Victim is very upset and is threatening to climb the building in his spider man costume. Officers in route.
Saturday 11:03 PM – 1724 165th street – Hammond Indiana – Woman dressed as a lady bug in Food 4 Less putting olives on her fingertips and is reportedly forcefully making people eat them off her hands. Security has her detained in the front of store.
This has to be just a punch to the gut for this father.
@humanbrightsideShe says, “I love you dad.” He says he loves her back, but she wasn’t finished with her first statement. She adds, “not as much as mommy.” (Via – 89X)
