Blink-182 to have some…interesting collaborations on new album.

Blink-182 is getting close to releasing new music and, well, some of the artists they’ve been working with might leave you a little nervous.  In a recent interview, Travis Barker (who is producing EVERYONE these day and singlehandedly bringing back pop punk so give him his flowers) said that the new record was 60% complete and will be featuring artists like Grimes and Lil Uzi Vert on it. I’ll give you a second to process that…….OK,deep breath now let’s continue. Barker also said that he knows it sounds crazy but not to worry, its not like Blink is about to release a rap album.  Who do you want the band to collaborate with on the new record?  I say bring back Tom.  No offense to Matt Skiba, who RULES, its just that singing along to Miss You without using the famous Delong accent doesn’t hit quite the same.

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE

My buddy Dan, you may know him as Producer Dan on the Dave and Kim morning show on our sister station WLS FM, just posted this crazy picture.  He was driving behind a semi on the interstate when a bowling ball made of ice fell off and hit his windshield final destination style!  Thankfully he is okay, and made the rest of his 40 mile drive home safely.

And I thought I just needed to worry about my neighbor’s icicle fortresses…  <3 Lauren

Daft Punk Are Done.

Daft Punk just announced they have officially called it quits after 28 years.

They announced this along with a pretty gnarly retirement video on their YouTube page that you can see here.

In the meantime, as we wait for a reunion show (fingers crossed), we can all rewatch Daft Punk’s Lollapalooza set ONE MORE TIME. Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Here’s What You Need to Know About WFH Tax Deduction

It’s that time of the year again, but this last year has been like no other. If you’ve been working from home due to the pandemic here’s what you need to know.

The gist is this: “Many companies allowed or even encouraged their employees to work from home during the coronavirus pandemic, but any expenses employees incurred to make the new setup work aren’t deductible on your federal income tax returns. Nor are any expenses related to your home office space, like utilities, insurance, or taxes.”

A full list of what you need to know can be found here.

How to Deal With Large Icicles On Your Roof

If you’re worried about the winter weather piling up on your roof, whether it be heavy snow, ice dams, or giant icicles, here’s what you need to know.

When it comes to icicles, try not to break them off. They can weigh a lot and a sudden shift in weight can cause major issues. It’s better to find a way for them to melt and then naturally fall off. Large amounts of icicles are usually a sign of poor insulation, while snow compiling is usually a sign of good insulation.

Stay safe, Chicago. Warm weather will be here soon!

One man took working from home to a new level. As you can see from the video below, he was partially responsible for landing the Mars Rover from the comfort is his home office.

This is not only a miracle feat of science, but a miracle feat of productivity while working from home. The focus and intensity while landing it is awesome and the celebration afterwards is incredible.

Skiers and Snowboarders, Unite!

With a country so divided it can be easy to forget what healing looks like. This is it, though. Bitter rivals. A man on a s snowboard and a man with skis. They aren’t supposed to get along with one another, yet here they are.

This video is not only beautiful, but it’s EFFICIENT. This needs to become the new trend. We love seeing it.

Plane Ride From Hell Takes Place Over the Weekend

We’re not sure who this flight was worse for, the passengers in the sky or the people on the ground. A Boeing 777 suffered catastrophic engine failure en route from Denver to Honolulu over the weekend. Parts fell off the plane off in Denver’s surrounding suburbs.

Passengers noted that they thought they were goners while the plane was going down. They’re luckily here to tell their story (and still get to fly to Hawaii). What’s your closest near-death experience? Fly on over to our Facebook and let us know.

Lip Synching gold:

Licking ice cream cartons is now a crime in Arizona.

Remember when a bunch of 🍑🎩’s were filming themselves opening up ice containers in stores, taking a big lick, then putting them back? 🤢

Arizona has passed a law to combat anyone from ever doing this again  From the Phoenix New Times:

“The new law makes it a Class 1 misdemeanor to intentionally introduce, add or mingle “any bodily fluid or foreign object not intended for human consumption with water, food, or drink.” That’s if a person actually consumes the produce or the damage of the contamination is at least $1,000.

If nobody consumes the contaminated produce and the damage is less than $1,000, it’s still a Class 2 misdemeanor with the potential for four months in jail and a $750 fine.

A final provision “Allows the calculation of damages caused by the contamination to include: a) the cost to clean and sanitize the contaminated area; and b) any monetary compensation given to a human being who consumed the contaminated water, food, drink or other product.”

So, are people gonna get off easy with this?  Does it need to be harsher?  Do we need this specific law?  — [eric]

Putting up your windshield wipers before a storm? STOP.

If you are a true blue Chicagoan or suburbanite, one of your tricks in combating winter is to stand your windshield wipers straight up in the air before a coming storm.

Stop doing this.  It has the potential to damage your car.  Windshield wipers aren’t meant to stand up to handle the force of the wind and you could be wrecking the gears that make them move.  More on this from Lifehacker.  Maybe you’ll rethink this move?  — [eric]

Chicago Has Gotten TONS of Snow Recently – Just How Much Will Surprise You

After the brutal polar vortex in 2018, Chicago got through winter last year relatively unscathed (it was everything else that came after that was pretty rough). This year, though, the snow has had its revenge. At press time, Chicago has received over 48 TONS of snow over the last month.

Are you still mesmerized by the prettiness of the snow or are you sick of it? Let us know on our Facebook page what you think of it right now?

Wanted Man Turns Himself In After Hating Quarantine Guests So Much

It’s always bad when prison is a nice change of scenery. A man in Sussex was wanted on unspecified crimes but was hiding out in quarantine with some people he knew. At some point, things went awry and he decided that it was better to be in prison than to quarantine with the people he was spending time around. Apparently prison offered the “peace and quiet” that this man was looking for.

Has quarantine got you down bad as well? What’s been your breaking point throughout the last 11 months? Head on over to our Facebook page and let us know.
