Say it Ain’t So … Is Netflix Bailing on “Binging”?

Netflix reinvented TV . . . not just through streaming, but BINGING. They started the idea of releasing an entire season of a show at once, so you didn’t have to wait a week between each installment.

Well, now they’re experimenting with a more gradual roll-out.

Netflix announced that the second seasons of the unscripted shows “The Circle” and “Too Hot to Handle” will premiere in April and June, respectively.

When “The Circle” first premieres on April 14th, there will only be four episodes . . . with additional batches coming on April 21st, April 28th, and May 5th. “Too Hot to Handle” will follow a similar pattern, but the exact dates haven’t been announced.

(Maybe because it would be too hot to handle it all at once? HI-YO!)

In a blog post, Netflix said, quote, “We’re experimenting with the release format so you have time to dissect and dish on every step of the competition as it unfolds.”

(I’m not sure how much “dissecting” is necessary for reality shows, and Netflix didn’t hint at what they may be trying to accomplish. But it’s hard to believe that they’re actually moving away from binging altogether.)

Drone Flies Through Erupting Icelandic Volcano … and it’s Magical!

Lava is pretty awesome! If you have been up on current affairs you know that Iceland is having some fun volcano eruptions.

Bjorn Steinbekk has the YouTube channel ‘A guy with a drone’ and he took his drone to the Fagradalsfjall volcano to film. The footage is amazing. These clips are very short. Just a few seconds each. But seeing an actual drone fly through an erupting volcano is simply mind-blowing. In the first clip, he flies through the erupting lava and in the second clip he goes ‘lava surfing’.

I could watch this all day.

At some point, somewhere in time, we took a wrong step. We don’t know how we got here, but we’re ready for our mom to pick us up and take us home. This reality is scary and we don’t like it here. This video is a step too far into a reality that we’re very uncomfortable with.

Naperville Duo Lands Deal on Shark Tank

A father-daughter combination found their way onto ABC’s Shark Tank and scored a $100,000 investment for their Totes Babies invention. The Totes Babies is a hammock-style holder meant to safely and easily secure toddlers in a shopping cart. From the looks of it, it’s brilliant!

Tennessee Woman Bites Cop Over Chicken Nugget Dispute

A woman in Nashville had the police called on her after tensions boiled over during a fight with her and her girlfriend that allegedly started over chicken nuggets. Once police arrived on the scene, the woman snapped, head butting and biting the officer attempting to make the arrest.

Elephant Charges at Man, Child at Zoo

San Diego narrowly avoided a disaster this weekend. A father brought his two-year-old past multiple barriers and into an elephant exhibit. Much like if someone wandered into your home, the elephant noticed these intruders and charged straight ahead.

As you can see, the elephant nearly takes out both people. Luckily, no one was physically harmed, but the parent was later arrested on suspicion of child cruelty.

Cubs Prospect Arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine

Jesus Camargo-Corrales of the Cubs organization was arrested over the weekend for a variety of drug charges, most notably the fact that he had 21 pounds of methamphetamine on him at the time of his arrest, plus a pound of oxycodone pills. If you’re wondering, 21 pounds of meth adds up to about the weight of 64 regulation-sized baseballs. Essentially, this man was packing heat.

Hopefully this is not a bad omen for the Cubs this season. We finally kicked the Billy Goat’s Curse, we don’t need to be plagued by methamphetamine going forward.
