Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker signed legislation Thursday which gives residents access to birth control over the counter. The bill, HB 0135 goes into effect Jan. 1, 2022 with provisions affecting the insurance code going into effect Jan. 1, 2023.

A fire broke out in a Richton Park apartment complex on Wednesday which sent five people to the hospital, one after they leaped from the balcony down to the ground below to save themselves. The fire occurred in the early afternoon and by the time emergency services arrived on the scene, the apartment building was entirely in flames.

A new study from the fine folks at Bankrate shows that Americans are no longer tipping when they eat at restaurants. What the hell! The study shows that 75% of Americans are still tipping when they eat out, but what’s with a quarter of the country not giving back?
Only 59% of people always tip their food delivery driver, down from 63% pre-pandemic. And just 23% tip at coffee shops, versus 24% who did so in 2019.
