Have you started playing Wordle yet?

If your’e looking for something to kill a bit of time, instead of doomscrolling yourself into depression on social media, you should check out this game called Wordle.  Its like the old game Mastermind, in that you get 6 tries to guess the word of the day, each guess revealing if you have the right letters in the right places or not.  Its super simple, and for some reason, super relaxing…probably because there are no pop up ads or bells and whistles, just you, some letters, and your brain.  Even sweeter, the guy who created the game did it to give his partner something to do to kill time during the pandemic. How romantic!

Scientists taught goldfish how to drive

Scientists in Israel conducted a study that taught goldfish how to drive a vehicle. The fishys were rewarded with food when they hit a target that moved the vehicle. The FOV, or fish operated vehicle, is a moving platform, with the goldfish on top. It moves when the fish pushes on the wall in the direction it wants to go which is the “target” because there’s food there! Yummy. Check it out!

An anniversary of one of the most heartbreaking play in NFL history

On January 6th, 2019, Bear kicker Cody Parkey’s 43-yard field goal attempt was partially blocked, then hit the left upright, then bounced off the cross-bar and fell into the end zone. This caused the Bears to suffer a heartbreaking loss against the Eagles, 16-15, and they did not advance to the Divisional playoffs. Commentator Chris Collinsworth coined the phrase “double doink” and the play went down in history. It was Parkey’s 11th miss of the season. Doink, doink.

Once she landed in the emergency room, that’s when she decided to retire.

Free Pooh

Winnie the Pooh is now public domain, but its not THAT Winnie the Pooh. Disney still owns the red shirt, no pants one but you can use the character from A.A. Milne and Ernest Hemingway’s classic novel, and THAT one is completely naked.

So what does that mean? Well we’ll let @timxprice explain it in a better way.

There’s a new term for women with larger, ahem, chests.

What shape is larger on top and slim everywhere else. It’s not Pear or Apple… it’s Airpod-shaped! Think about it, when was the last time you even saw a lady that was “hourglass” shaped. Exactly. It’s outdated, and not a lot of people are shaped like that nowadays either. This description fits pretty well I think!

This mom gave her husband the best gift he could ever receive…

A mom turned influencer wanted to give her husband something for the holidays that he would never forget. She secretly paid off all of his student loans. She wrapped up a pair of shoes that said “debt free” because she wanted him walking around like that in the future. She recorded her conversation of her paying off his loan and played it for him as he had tears in his eyes. Mom of the year!

Did AT&T predict the future?!

This TV ad for AT&T is crazy because they nailed it, in 1993. How did they predict the future like this?! The idea of reading a book, “from thousands of miles away” or using “navigation” to cross the country instead asking for directions or using a map. They did mention sending someone a fax from the beach, but we will chalk that up to an “email.” What’s crazy is they’ve been working on all of the technology we have today for a long time. People have had these ideas about what the future would look like and now it’s reality. Yeah, some things are slightly different, but they got most of it right. I wonder what they’re working on now, or maybe we don’t want to know!

Hockey fan may have saved Canuck’s staffer’s life!

Fan Nadia Popovici pointed out to him that something might be wrong and that he should get it check out. He visited the doctor in October and found out that it was a cancerous growth but it was a blessing that he caught it early. He finally got the chance to say thank you to her and a fund of o$10,000 has been set up to go towards Nadia’s medical training.

Proof of vaccine for Chicago, Cook County, begins today

The city of Chicago and Cook County will require proof of COVID-19 vaccine starting today at indoor venues, and Secretary of State offices will be closed until the 18th due to a rise in infections. Everyone ages 5 and older will need to provide proof of vaccination at places like bars, restaurants, gyms, and other indoor venues like sporting events, or entertainment. The rules do not apply to those inside for less than 10 minutes, for example, if you’re picking up takeout. The move is due to a recent surge in cases across the country and in Chicago. Illinois is seeing it’s highest levels on record. Gov. Pritzker is urging hospitals in the state to delay elective surgeries to keep hospital beds open.
