Cannabis brings the green to Illinois — $388M in 2021 tax revenue

Photo by Sharon McCutcheon from Pexels

Illinois collected nearly $388 million in taxes on recreational cannabis sales in the state, according to the Marijuana Policy Project.

That would put the Land of Lincoln in the top 3 of the 11 states reported on for 2021.

Looks like a lot of us are embracing this whole legal dispensary thing, huh?

Teenager hacks Teslas: dozens of cars were under his control, allegedly

Photo by SCREEN POST from Pexels

A 19 year old hacker and security research says he was able to control features of dozens of Tesla vehicles because of a security vulnerability in a third-party software, according to a report by Vice.

While critical functions like steering, braking, and acceleration could not be accessed — the teen says he could still unlock doors, take drivers on trips, and blast music.

Tesla did not respond when asked for comment by Vice. And the hacker claims he’s been working with the third-party app to fix their flaws.

Bands breaking world records

According to Loudwire some of our favorite bands are out here breaking world records including:

Twenty One Pilots . . . They are the first musical artist to certify at least RIAA Gold for every track on two consecutive albums, “Vessel” (2013) and “Blurryface” (2015).

Thirty Seconds to Mars . . . In 2011 they completed the longest tour by a rock band for a total of 309 dates.

OK Go . . . They became the first to shoot a music video on a reduced-gravity aircraft.  It was for “Upside Down & Inside Out”.

Shinedown . . . They have most #1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart . . . 16 total.

Pearl Jam . . . They have the most live tracks released in one week.  Last year they put out a digital archive called “Deep” that has 5,404 live songs compiled over a span of 14 years of touring.

Paramore . . . In the music video for “Ain’t It Fun”, they set 10 world records, including the most feathers caught in 30 seconds, longest time spinning a vinyl record on a finger, and the fastest time to run backward holding stuffed animals while blindfolded for 30 feet.

Setting 10 world records in a video was also a world record in itself. That’s 11 in less than 4 minutes…pretty cool. <3 Lauren

Couples that fall together, stay together

Sometimes you can’t say “I love you” by simply saying “I love you”. You need to bust your ass and nearly split your head open together. That is the true sign of love.

Dillion, the team mascot for the Portland Pickles, got them kicked off Twitter

Fans of the Portland Pickles baseball team were shocked after checking out their Twitter and seeing some snaps from the mascot takeover. Dillion, the Dill pickle, is the team’s mascot and took some pics then posted them to the team’s official Twitter page. It started out innocent enough. Now scroll down. He was “trying to give a thumbs up.”

Two women committed the cutest felony ever

Everyone knows glitter is the herpes of the arts and craft world. Just try cleaning up glitter, I dare you. I have glitter in my purse from a party a decade ago. It’s so annoying. Two women got into a fight with a man in Florida. In the early hours of the morning, they broke into the man’s house, then threw containers of glitter at him. Yes, glitter was the weapon of choice and yes, they did get a felony.

Someone paid $400,000 to live next to this celeb

Actually, it’s not in real life at all. It’s in the ‘metaverse.’ Investors are buying up real estate in the metaverse and someone just spent $400,000 to live next to Snoop Dogg in Decentraland. So much for him bringing them brownies to welcome them to the neighborhood. Why the digital land rush? It’s about the digital world being as important as the real world. People are banking on the fact that the future will be putting money into the virtual world. Hence, it’s like normal real estate, you want to live where the action is and someone bought some space close to Snoop Dogg.

Is this guy a jerk?

You’d think two years of a pandemic would soften some people’s hearts. You’d be wrong if you thought that. This man’s friend has no patience for small businesses, even in trying times.

Is he the jerk? The conversation lives on Facebook!

Does he belong to the streets?

Brian, Ali, & Justin firmly believe that people can change, but we also believe in not avoiding red flags when they are being waved right in front of your face. That’s why we’re in such a tough spot about this email we received.

Does he belong to the streets? The conversation lives on Facebook!

Your favorite couple just got engaged! Watch this proposal!

Watch the mini proposal that Megan posted to her Instagram. There’s also the ring that is part emerald, her birth stone, and a diamond, his birth stone colliding together. It represents two of the same soul, because they believe that they are twin flames. Congrats you two lovebirds! …and then they drank each other’s blood.

And then there’s the ring…

Coming soon: ‘Zoopranos’

Watch this perfect mix of The Golf Cart Orangutan and ‘The Sopranos’ theme… ‘Zoopranos!’ This is absolutely perfect and makes me wish there was a zoo version of Sopranos. Tony would definitely be an Orangutan too. Carmela would be the flamingo. His shrink could be a giraffe… I’m having too much fun with this.
