Simply put, it would allow all of us to set out clocks ahead one hour at 2AM this Sunday (March 13th, 2022) — and then never have to do this awful, no good, terrible act ever again.
I think this is something all Americans can stand behind and support. (Just as long as politicians aren’t hiding some things inside this piece of legislation that have absolutely NOTHING to do with stopping the time change…which I wouldn’t put past them)
We continue to watch in horror as Russian troops, unprovoked and without regard for human life, increase their assault on the innocent people of Ukraine. The devastation is beyond belief. Innocent families and children are being uprooted from their homes, and hundreds of others have already been killed as a result of the non-stop bombing.
The people of Ukraine need help. If you have the financial means to provide assistance, below are some of the organization links that you may want to use to donate to the victims of this horrific and unlawful attack.

The World Central Kitchen is serving thousands of fresh meals to Ukrainian families fleeing from their homes as well as those who remain in the country to fight. Working at a 24-hour pedestrian border crossing in southern Poland, WCK began serving hot, nourishing meals within hours of the initial invasion and are now set up at eight border crossings across the country. Additionally, they are supporting local restaurants preparing meals in five Ukrainian cities including in Odessa and Lviv. WCK teams are also on the ground in Romania, Moldova, Hungary, and arriving soon to Slovakia to see how they can best support people there. I Like Music, you like music! Here are just a few tunes I’m digging on this week that I think are worth your consideration.
OK, I know this isn’t a music video but I am a Star Wars nerd so this is going on my list!
Black Keys- Wild Child. A return to form for the Black Keys. I love it.
SEB- I’m The Man. This song is most definitely NSFW so be prepared for that, but what a groove!
Foals- 2am. No one blends heavy guitars and dancy riffs better than these guys.
A Day to Remember- Re-Entry. This song features Mark Hoppus and it is an absolute bop.
KennyHoopla- How Will I Rest In Peace If I’m Buried By A Highway? This started auto-playing right after the ADTR song I just posted and I ended up listening to it 3x in a row so it makes the list. New KennyHoopla soon btw.
Mount Kimbie- Blue Train Lines. This song features King Krule, who I think has one of the most interesting voices in music. This is maybe a little too cool for the room, but give it a couple listens and you might end up loving it as much as me.
PAWS Chicago is building no kill communities and tonight at Animal Magnetism you can help too! If you can’t make it, there’s always the silent auction with the link below. PAWS was started in Chicago in 1997 by Paula Fasseas and her daughter Alexis. They wanted to form an organization to help homeless animals in the Chicagoland area and find solutions to end euthanasia. In 2000, PAWS opened the Lurie Spay and Neuter Clinic, then in 2007, PAWS opened its Lincoln Park adoption center located at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave. In 2021, over 4,000 animals were adopted from PAWS, there were over 96,000 volunteer hours, and a 97.7% save rate of incoming animals. Support and save local pooches and kitties! -Ali
Gas prices are getting out of control, and if you drive, you’ve definitely felt it in your wallet. The average cost of one gallon of gas jumped 55 cents in one week. Ouch. President Biden said the U.S. will phase out Russian imports by the end of 2022 which could make gas prices go up even more. With all of that, here’s how to get most bang for your buck with every gallon.
Avoid higher speeds and try to use cruise control when possible
Combine shorter trips because warm engines run more efficiently than cold ones
Unfortunately, there’s nothing funny about gas prices going up. But this guy nails it in this video when he accurately depicts what happens on every local news station every time gas prices go up. This is exactly how it goes, and that’s why it’s so funny. Fingers crossed we won’t be taking out a second mortgage at the pump for very long. Until prices get lower, you can at least laugh at this…
Finally! St Patrick’s Day is back this year, and things will kick off this Saturday, March 12th at 10am. The Journeymen Plumbers Local Union 130 will kick things off by spraying 50 pounds of dye into the river! The nice green color should last for several days. You can watch that along the Chicago River between Columbus Drive and Orleans Street. The river dyeing goes along with the Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade which steps off at 12:15 p.m. The parade begins at Columbus Drive between Balbo and Monroe drives. The parade will have Irish dancers, floats, bagpipers, and marching bands. Bundle up because it’s going to be chilly Saturday, but that’s no excuse, let’s go!!
Of course, McDonald’s will always have McNuggets and a double quarter pounder with cheese, but what ever happened to the Snack Wrap? There’s more things that you might think that flopped in the end, although some people would love for them to return. Here are some items from America’s favorite restaurant that won’t be coming back… ever. At least at the American locations.
Every city and state is known from some specific things, like everyone in Wisconsin eats 3lbs of cheese a day for example, but beneath the obvious stereotypes there are things that you can only know about if you are truly from that place. What are some things that only people from Chicago understand? You know, like ketchup belongs at the bottom of the ocean instead of on a hot dog. Stuff like that.
An assistant principal in Mississippi got fired after reading the book, ‘I Need A New Butt’ to his students. The book, written by New Zealand author Dawn McMillan, is a picture book for ages 6-10. The assistant principal, Toby Price, was told by his boss to read to a group of second graders after a guest reader failed to show up. He grabbed one of his favorite silly books that he knew kids loved and thought nothing of it. Price said he’s never had an issue with it before and many other books that have much more suggestive material in them. It’s uncertain if the complaint came from a parent or a student. In his letter of termination, it read that he was let go for “unnecessary embarrassment” and cited “a lack of professionalism and impaired judgment.” Whatever that means. Watch his story:
In this TikTok, we see “BigMommey” get a cup to wet her whistle, but she’s thirsty for something else too! The drive-thru dude that’s helping her. He’s got the softest hands and sweetest smile, can you blame her? Not only doe she make it apparent that she’s into him in 2.2 seconds, she asks him if he’s married. He says, “yes” and then this happens…
Photo journalist, Francesco Malavolta got this snap last week at a train station in Poland. The strollers are gifts for refugee Ukrainian mothers. It’s most likely they didn’t have time to grab a stroller, or weren’t allowed to bring them on, in order to make room for more people on the train. It’s an incredibly difficult time for them, but highlighting the mass outpouring of love from people that want to help is imperative. People, on the whole, are good. Highlight the helpers.
After two year of being deprived of Chicago’s Pride Parade, it’s back this year baby! Coordinator Tim Frye confirmed the parade will back Sunday, June 26th. The festival itself will also be returning but a week before the parade. It’s expected to bring over 100,000 people this year!
This isn’t the normal response from a soon-to-be daddy when you tell him that you’re preggers. He seems… not enthused about the whole thing. He’s upset because apparently, she JUST had a baby three months ago! Doesn’t your body need to heal? Great question. In the end, we can blame Billy Ray Cyrus for his sexy music.
Move over Nandy Bushell, there’s a new contender for cutest kid who can play music WAAAAAY better than they should be able to. Say hello to Miles Bonham, who is only 5 years old and already a music prodigy. Here he is, recreating Green Day’s “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” from scratch. He plays, records, and mixes every instrument on the song. AND HE IS FIVE! I was still a novice Lego builder at that age. Seriously, watch this, its really great.
Every week we somehow find a Karen that tops the one from the week before. We’re genuinely worried about finding a dumber Karen than this one, because this is an all-timer.
Where is this Karen from? The conversation lives on Facebook!
Parents, this is a warning. When you take away an Xbox, it’s a serious addiction and the withdrawal symptoms are rough. Revenge is one of them. Watch this son melt down and take away one of his mom’s favorite things in return for banishing him from his Xbox. This is what you get, CAROL!
There’s no need to cover up the fact that you’re getting older, dudes. Here’s the thing, you’re lucky because when a man ages, you’re refined. You become more attractive, hooray for you! There’s no need to worry about those pesky grey hairs that have started to infiltrate your face. Let the grey hairs run free, it’s sexy, OK? #sexy #loveallwomen
