Pinstripes held their “Chicago Looks Good On You” party last night at their River East location to celebrate their re-opening on the first day of summer and to show off a new public art installation featuring large scale portraits of people “wearing” Chicago landmarks. The exhibit will be up for the rest of 2022 at Pinstripes. They also have T-shirts for purchase with prints of the art and a portion of the profits will go to the Chicago Artists Coalition, a non-profit organization that supports emerging Chicago artists. -Ali

See the difference between the high paying jobs in the 1950’s compared to today!

The 1950’s were a great time for U.S. People had more purchasing power, and more people were in the workforce, including women. In 1957, the minimum wage was $1. You heard me. But, it worked out with the cost of everything. An average office worker would get anywhere from $2,000 to $6,000 a year- or $20,000- $60,000 today. 1 in 16 people did “blue-collar” work and made around $3 an hour or $63,000 today. The minimum wage now is $7.25.

The higher paying jobs today? Anesthesiologists- they’re getting around $131 an hour or $261,000 per year. Not too shabby. Next on the list is CEO- they’re making on average of $193,00 annually, and finally pilots are bringing around $175,000 a year. There you have it. Pick one of these three, and you should be gooooood.
