Billy Corgan announces benefit show for Highland Park shooting victims

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman and his partner, Chloe Mendel, have announced that they will host a livestream charity show for the victims of the Highland Park shooting from Corgan’s restaurant, Madame Zuzu’s, which is located in Highland Park.

Corgan said in an Instagram post, “…on the evening of July 27 is we’re going to have a very special charity concert. Jimmy Chamberlin’s going to be part of the concert, other parts of the Pumpkins family…There are so many people here affected by this tragedy,” Corgan said. “It’s very close to our hearts and we hope you’ll participate and support as well.”

The show will be broadcast live on the Smashing Pumpkins YouTube channel on July 27 at 8:00pm. All proceeds will go to the Highland Park Community Foundation and be directed to its July 4th Highland Park Shooting Response Fund.

As an advocate for mental health, I’m so glad to see this improvement.

The National Suicide Prevention Hotline has changed up to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Hotline. A nationwide easy to remember three digit number comes along with a slight rebrand to give those experiencing a tough time a place to turn to.

Spread the word!

However, we aren’t done with our work here. After reading my morning e-mail from The Hustle, there apparently are only 13 states that have put in place funding to support this initiative — and that does NOT include Illinois. So — lean on your lawmakers! Let’s get this changed!

Does he belong to the streets?! He refuses to call his girlfriend his… girlfriend.

My boyfriend calls me his lady friend and refuses to call me his girlfriend in public. He thinks it makes him sound like a simp when he calls me his girlfriend. I feel like when he calls me lady friend that it makes me sound like a floozy and not someone he loves. Does he belong to me to the streets for calling me his lady friend? By the way he’s 31 not some old man. Ahoy!

BAG POLICY- All bags are searched before entry, backpacks are not allowed as are bags with multiple pockets. They must be clear, and they can not be larger than 12 inches x 12 inches x 6 inches.

A domino’s delivery driver rescued a family from a burning home in Indiana!

A brave Domino’s Pizza delivery driver in LaFayette, Indiana was driving by a home around 12:30 on Monday, and saw that it was engulfed in flames. He called 911, got out of his car, and ran into the house to rescue 4 sleeping kids. He alerted the three who were able to make it out on their own. Then he went back in to grab the last child and jumped out of a window with her. He suffered smoke inhalation and is now in the hospital. All of the kids are going to be fine thanks to him!

A man at the All-star game couldn’t help himself and pushed a bunch of little kids to try to get a baseball autograph. Not exactly hero material or the look the MLB wants. You can see him voicing his displeasure at the kid who pushes him back!
