Industrial 101: A roundtable overview (History of Alternative Episode 26)

Industrial music, a subgenre defined by Sturm und Drang… storm and drive… has been making loud, challenging, dystopian noise since the 1970s. Hints of industrial have found their way into the mainstream, of course. You can pretty much trace Trent Reznor’s upbringing to the Wax Trax catalog of the 1980s. That said, Industrial has mostly stuck to the dark corners… the edges… of what we call alternative music. This week, it’s a roundtable overview of “Industrial 101,” with Raymond Watts (PIG, KMFDM) and Chris Connellly (Revolting Cocks, Ministry, etc.).
