Have a concert or event you can’t or don’t want to attend. You have a new option, ChameleonMask. A person straps a crazy virtual reality headset/tablet device to there head and you get to virtually experience the event. If this is confusing you, you’re not alone. Here’s how the ChamelonMask site breaks it down.
“ChameleonMask is a telepresence system that displays a remote user’s face on another user’s face. By wearing the mask, we can be someone else and also someone can be our surrogates. The remote user can not only communicate with people who are not in the same place but also communicate physically by making direction such as body gesture with surrogate’s limbs.”
“Human Uber,” developed in Japan, provides a way to attend events remotely using another person’s body. “It’s surprisingly natural” says its inventor, Jin Rekimoto of Sony #emtechasia pic.twitter.com/WZHPVcZ6M0

As strange as this seems, I think one of the more useful reasons to have something like this is for people who experience anxiety in crowds or have some other issues with going out in public. This could be a way to help them enjoy events. NYMag.
