Ed Sheeran victorious in “Let’s Get It On” lawsuit, will remain an active musician

A federal jury in New York on Thursday sided with Ed Sheeran in a lawsuit over whether or not his hit song “Thinking Out Loud” stole components of Marvin Gaye’s classic 1970s tune “Let’s Get It On”. As jurors left the courtroom, Sheeran smiled at several of them and mouthed the words: “Thank you.”

Sheeran will no longer have to follow through with his promise that would quit music had the jury not sided with him.
