White Sox closer Liam Hendriks, who has been battling non-Hodgkin lymphoma since January, began his last round of chemotherapy on Monday. In a video on the White Sox Twitter account, the Australian-born hurler said, “Happy opening day, Sox fans. Just want to let you know I’m starting my last round of chemo today so I’ll see you guys on the South Side soon. Play ball.”
Sox General Manager Rick Hahn was bullish on the closer returning to the fold within the next 60 days.
