Your neighborhood in Chicago might be one of the coolest in the world to live in

Chicago is a city of awesome neighborhoods. 77 going on 78 to be exact. But one of them made the list of ‘Coolest Places To Live In the World.’ That’s saying something! According to the list of 51 cities, only 6 in the US even made the cut. The rankings done by Time Out magazine, were based on accessibility, culture and nightlife, and wide variety of affordable food and drink. They also took into account offerings to locals and tourists. No. 1 is Colonia Americana in Guadalajara, Mexico, which is known to many locals as the “country’s cultural capital.” But I’ll stop beating around the bush and tell you which neighborhood in Chicago made the cut- it’s Avondale. Coming in at number 16, Avondale is known for it’s Polish influence and Mexican food, along with a bunch of interesting small businesses.” Avondale is a rare place that feels equally welcoming to families, arty twenty-somethings and working-class Chicagoans,” Time Out says. In 2021, the Andersonville neighborhood scored at number 2. -Ali
