Legendary coach, broadcaster, and video game spokesman John Madden passed away on December 28 at his home in Pleasanton. Madden is without a doubt one of the single most influential non-athletes on American sports, revolutionizing the way the game is called from the broadcast booth, teaching generations about football psychology with his Madden NFL video game series, and introducing the infamous Turducken to households across America.

Madden is survived by his wife Virginia and two sons, Joseph and Michael.
