It’s another round of big box closures, as Sears gets ready to close another 72 of its stores. Here in the company’s hometown of Chicago, the last local Sears standing (at Six Corners) had already announced its impending closing in July.

As the Associated Press noted, Sears “survived two world wars and the Great Depression.” The threat of Walmart and online retail, however, might be too strong to defeat.
