Bullying rates have plummeted in the last decade

Bullying shows itself in a number of ways: Making fun of someone; calling them names or insulting them; spreading rumors; threatening with harm; pushing, shoving, tripping or spitting on someone; pressuring someone to do something they don’t want to do; excluding someone from activities on purpose; destroying property; etc.

We’ve all seen it, been around it and perhaps even been hurt by it. With that, comes some good news: Bullying dropped by more than a third between 2007-2015… and kids are more likely these days to tell an adult if they’re being bullied. These stats come from the Department of Education, which also reports 7% of kids have been called a hateful word; that’s down from 10%.
