Scientists find obvious news that attending concerts makes you happy

An Australian scientific study with a sample of a 1000 people has concluded that people who regularly go to concerts are happier with their lives than those who don’t.

The findings revealed that engaging with music by dancing or attending musical events was associated with higher (Subjective Well Being) than for those who did not engage with music in these forms. The findings also emphasised the important role of engaging with music in the company of others with regard to (Subjective Well Being), highlighting an interpersonal feature of music.

Yes, I think with being so spoiled in Chicago with festivals like Lollapalooza, Riot Fest, and Piqniq plus wonderful venues like the Metro, Bottom Lounge, and the Aragon makes this all feel obvious but maybe for those that have to travel a little bit further to a show, it may not. Get in the car, get on the train, go the show. You won’t regret it.

In the video above that I did a few years ago with Consequences of Sound, about what people do NOT enjoy about going to concerts. Yes, we talk about people spilling beer and other concert no-nos.
