Tests have been successfully done on pre-mature lambs and if approved, the wombs would be tested on pre-mature human babies within the next three to five years.

What happens is a plastic bag filled with artificial nutrient-rich amniotic fluid is used to create an artificial womb for babies that would be born up to 2-3 months early.
