Foo Fighters making new music in 2017

This should be something (from nothing) to look forward to in 2017. The Foo Fighters who over the last month revealed they are playing select festival dates this year, will also be making new music according a report today from our buds, Consequences of Sound.  The Foos will headline the Bottlerock fest in California, which could be “their only show in 2017 in North America,” according to Dave Graham, CEO of Latitude 38, the entertainment company behind the Napa Valley event.

This will be the band’s ninth studio album following 2014’s Sonic Highways which accompanied an HBO documentary series about the Foos writing and recording the record in various U.S. cities. They were very busy in 2015 they toured extensively, released two 2015 EPs, Songs from the Laundry Room and Saint Ceciliaso taking off 2016 was not that big of a deal. It was fun when the Foos comically teased a break-up. before taking the extended break, which saw drummer Taylor Hawkins release his solo album ‘KOTA’ and tour with his 70’s superstar cover band, Chevy Metal.

It’s not clear when the band will release the new music, or if they will add more live shows this year. Let’s hope we get them in Chicago sooner rather than later.
