Superman will fly again in a planned solo movie

Henry Cavil will fly again as Superman in an upcoming solo Superman movie according to a report this week by the Wrap. If you saw ‘Batman vs. Superman’ in theaters, you may be wondering why this is happening but check out the spoilers here. DC Extended Universe of films will go on with ‘Justice League’ film which was confirmed by director Zack Snyder to feature Superman join Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash, and Cyborg as they take on evil in 2017. ‘Man of Steel’ the 2013 Superman movie featuring Cavil in the role, was a reboot for the character and despite some mixed response, garnered $668 million at the global box office.

Hollywood writer and director Max Landis delivers a thought-provoking rant about ‘Man of Steel’

It will be a long wait for this new adventure with Clark Kent’s alter-ego as next year will have the release of ‘Justice League’ as well as ‘Wonder Woman’ with Gal Gadot reprising the role. 2018 will see the release ‘Aquaman’ and a solo Batman movie with Ben Affleck has been development for some time. Warner Bros. the studio behind the DC movies, has yet to comment on the story.

As a fan of Superman, it would be fun to finally see him tangle with one of his more underrated foes in Brainiac. He’s a highly intelligent villain whose used his powers to put Supes in some challenging scenarios in the comics.
