Ratboys (1:30-2:15, Bud Light)
Chicago’s own Ratboys have been one of my favorite bands going back to their 2017 classic, GN. Tracks like the gut-wrenching “Peter the Wild Boy” and the sprawling epic that is “Control” jumped out of my speakers during my freshman year of college, and I’ve been hooked ever since. They followed that effort with 2020’s brooding Printer’s Devil (shout out to their show at The Hideout on February 29, 2020, which was my last taste of live music before COVID) and 2023’s gorgeous The Window. In short, Ratboys has put out a number of records, all of which are great, and it’s about time that they get recognition at Chicago’s music prestigious music festival.
