As Chicago transitions into a new era with the upcoming Runoff Election and subsequent ousting of Mayor Lightfoot, Brian & Justin sat down and looked at the state of our state. According to the Urban Institute, this is how Illinois spends its money,

The bulk of our money serves public education, a worthwhile investment given that Illinois remains a top 10 state when it comes to K-12 education.

Elsewhere, welfare, roads, and health take up the most of the state’s budget.
