So.. how often do you change your underwear? After every bowel movement? Daily? Every other day? Once a week? Twice a month?
A new study claims that nearly half of all Americans admit to having worn the same underwear for multiple days in a row.
Clothing and underwear company Tommy John surveyed 2,000 people about their skivvies and found that 45% have worn the same pair for at least two days.
Even worse, 13% said they have, at least once, wore the same pair for a solid WEEK.
Also finding out that 46% of those surveyed owned the same underwear for at least a year, while 38% claimed they had no idea how old their oldest pair of skivvies was.
Here’s something that will gross you out even more about these findings: Clean underwear can contain up to 10,000 living bacteria.
Now that’s CLEAN underwear, imagine dirty…
The study concluded by recommending people discard old underwear every six to 12 months. Also, they say you should refrain from wearing the same pair for days in a row.
