The former home of 101WKQX, the Merchandise Mart, will be transformed into a giant digital canvas starting this fall.

It’s called “Art On theMart,”  And it will feature 34 digital projectors teaming up to create giant pieces of public art on the side of the famed Chicago building.  Non-commercial pieces, I might add.  Expect to see zero ads and 100% creativity over the 30-year run of this project.

Projections will begin each day at dusk, and run for two hours each night of exhibition (Wednesday – Sundays).  You can get a great view from Wacker Dr. as well as the Chicago Riverwalk. — [eric]
