This weekend Ferris Fest kicks off in suburban Lake Forest and Northbrook, the home of the characters in John Hughes’s classic film,¬†Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Festivities¬†include a 1986-themed dance, visits to filming locations and a special screening of the movies at the¬†John & Nancy Hughes Theater. However, one of the event’s most anticipated attractions will be taking up residence in the Loop.

Organizers of the event¬†previously announced¬†that Ferris Fest¬†attendees would be able to visit a painstaking re-creation of¬†Ferris Bueller‚Äôs bedroom. Now, they’ve revealed that the bedroom will be hosted by¬†Virgin Hotels Chicago¬†and will be accessible even¬†without a ticket to the festival. Admission to the bedroom, which will be on view from 9am to 5pm on May 20, 21 and 22, is $10 and can be purchased from¬†the¬†Ferris Fest website. (READ MORE HERE)

This movie is everything. I love watching it knowing where each scene was filmed and noticing how much Chicago has changed all the while it’s stayed wonderfully the same over the years. I will absolutley be visiting this room. If you end up going make sure to tag me on social media. Also I highly recommend Miss Ricky’s Diner inside the Virgin Hotel. It’s a bit more expensive but everything is fantastic and they have tons of great beer on tap. – @marconibologna
