Reviews by listeners

1997’s debut album “…A Better View Of The Rising Moon” scores five stars. With Lyrics like, “Turn the lights off. I don’t want to see myself doing this” as found in the song “Garden Of Evil” or from the song “Hey Darlin” , “Casting shadows on the pavement, dancing toe to toe” keeps one tapping their foot and enjoying the music.

Adding a splash of Mandolin, Banjo, Harmonica and even Cello, an extra unique sound develops which, sets the band well apart and above the typical carbon-copy emo/indie-type groups. 1997 does not yield to, or continue down the usual path’s heard on today’s stage - 1997 has found their own path and forge ahead without screaming or cursing or songs without substance.

From “Waters Edge” to “Curse Or Cure” - the entire CD is a treat to hear and enjoy, over and over! By Tammy Christian, Mt. Carmel, TN.
