30 Second To Mars Announce European Tour

30 Seconds To Mars are planning to hit the road for a European tour in early 2010. The band will kick off the tour with five February dates in the U.K. that include a headlining show at London's Wembley Arena. The string of concerts will promote the group's upcoming album, This Is War, which will be released on December 7. The album is the follow-up to 2005's A Beautiful Lie.

STP Cancel Tour Dates To Finish Album

Stone Temple Pilots are postponing a string of upcoming concerts to give themselves more time to work on their new album. STP have said they need more time in the studio to finish their yet-to-be-titled forthcoming album, their first since 2001'sShangri-La Dee Da. All concerts after a November 24 show in Halifax, Nova Scotia, have been canceled and will be rescheduled at later dates.

Kings Of Leon Take MtvU's Top Woody Award

Kings of Leon took home the top honor at mtvU's Annual Woody Awards show earlier this week. The band walked away with the "Woody of the Year," edging out competition that included Asher Roth,DrakeMGMT and Silversun Pickups. Other awards given included the "Breaking Woodie" to Never Shout Never, "Best Video Woodie" to Matt and Kim, "Performing Woodie" to Green Day and "Left Field Woodie" to Tech N9ne.

Pete Wentz: Fall Out Boy "Decompressing"

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz went on record this week to assure fans that the group is not breaking up. Rumors exploded across the Internet last weekend after drummer Andy Hurley tweeted that the group is on "hiatus," a term often associated with "calling it quits." Wentz cleared the air in a recent interview with MTV, however, saying the band just needs to take a breather. "We're decompressing right now," Wentz said.

Velvet Underground To Reunite For Discussion At NY Public Library

Former the Velvet Underground membersLou ReedDoug Yule and Maureen "Moe" Tucker will join Rolling Stone'sDavid Fricke for a discussion on December 8 at the New York Public Library in New York. The discussion is part of the Live from the NYPL series. Ryan Adams andMary-Louise Parker also took part in the series earlier this fall. A downloadable mp3 or video is expected to be made available after the appearance.
