After a year of banging around in the studio,
the new Sleeping At Last cd, “Ghosts”,
will be in stores October 7, 2003. Just recently
signed to Interscope Records, the band is a three
piece including two brothers Ryan O’Neal
on vocals, guitars and keys, Chad O’Neal
on drums and percussion and Dan Perdue on bass
and keys. Ghosts is an eleven track disc produced
by Bjorn Thorsrud and mixed by Alan Moulder. The
album cover and artwork are very unique. They
were painted by Sage Vaughn a/k/a Saggy Bottom.
Ghosts is a sensitive trip through self exploration
and an expression of the bands soulful inner spirituality.
Its not a disc I recommend listening to right
before you head out to the monster truck pull.
Most of the cd contains soft, melodic tunes with
sprinkles of pixy dust. I’m not kidding….if
you listen to it you’ll know exactly what
I’m talking about. It’s no wonder
that Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins gravitated
to the band immediately.
Billy was key in helping to develop Sleeping
at Last. In a recent interview with Ryan he said
that Billy provided a great deal of guidance and
advice that was instrumental in getting the band
signed to a major label. Sleeping At Last is primed
and ready to hit mainstream radio with a first
effort that could go all the way.
Currently Sleeping at Last is on tour with Switchfoot
and Bleu and will be returning to Chicago’s
Metro for an all ages cd release party on October
8, 2003. If you want to reach the band to join
their street team or check out their web site
