Local 101 Pornstar
OK, so I may be the sidekick on Local 101, but I’ve still got a sweet job. In addition to being Chris Payne’s fact-checker, coffee-maker, and all around go-to guy, I get to listen to all the newest local music as soon as it comes in! I divide my time between listening to tons of great new local tunes and going out to all of Chicago’s great venues and checking out some great live music. (Now that I’m finally old enough to get into all the clubs!)

I’m into all sorts of music, but Chicago’s really got some of the best stuff out there right now. Even as a kid, I liked the Smashing Pumpkins more than all the “Seattle” bands ‘cuz they were from around here. Some of my other favorites from the city include Rise Against, Spitalfield, The Lawrence Arms, and Rock Star Club. I’m always looking for great new music though, so send your band’s CD and you never know, it might get played.

I got my start in the Chicago “scene” at a small college station. From there I got an internship at the old Rock 103.5 with Chris, before ultimately ending up at Q101 where he took over Local 101.
